Live from the 8th Floor CR Tower!

Hi Gang!

Reporting Live from the Contemporary! Upgraded to a Tower Room Today Overlooking the Magic Kingdom on the 8th Floor.

Fireworks were INCREDIBLE last night. They were so intense that ashes were actually falling on my arm.

MK was jam packed last night, and I just got back from MGM where I didn't wait more than 25 minutes to get on anything today.

Will be heading to DTD tonight for dinner. And back to MK and Epcot Tomorrow for the Final Day.

The Hotel is Busy, But It only cost me $60 to upgrade to a Tower so I was happy.

View is incredible!

It's Hot, but it wasnt as humid as I expected. - I arrived at MK at 5pm last night, and I was surprised to see the number of people leaving around 5pm. But people were still walking right in to the park around 8.

MGM crowds were big, but everything kept moving.

All In All, A Lot less crazy than I expected.

Although A Convention has started in the CR today, and it's kind of busy in the Hotel.

Aren't tower rooms great! Have you noticed any construction noise from the room rehabs?

How cool! Have fun and don't stay awake too late watching the castle change colors. It always made me so tired the next day.

Response to Wing Room Question: I was originally put in a South Wing Room 1st Floor, which I was surprised b/c I thought all of the South W. was closed.

But they gave me a Handicap Room. I wasn't too fond of it, no lock on the bathroom door, etc...

So I went to the Front Desk this Morning, and they upgraded me to a Tower.

Nothing can beat the Tower Rooms though!

10th Floor is completely roped off, as I'm typing this looking up at it right now.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks aren't until 10 tonight, I thought they were 9, and so did the family staying in the next room.

Off to the Balcony of my room to watch the Fireworks soon. Have a Great Night Everybody.

I wonder if this is good or bad luck that my room # is 4444 ????

Thanks for the info on the renovations! We're staying on the 12th floor, and I'm starting to get worried that there will be a lot of construction going on while we are there.

We are planning on staying in the Tower on our trip and I would be grateful if you could answer a few ?? for me.

How was check in?

Being on the 4th floor, is there noise from the monorail/ concourse?

Is the view just unbelievable? Do you look stright on at the castle or down on it?

How do you get to the pool?

Oh, I remember that magical view from the Tower. Everyone goes ga ga over the MK view at the GF and Poly. IMO, nothing beats the view from the Contemporary. Glad you are having fun!

Sorry to break this to you, but many hotels in Asia and areas of the world with Asian clientele don't have a fourth floor, rooms that have a '4' in them, or '4's in the telephone number or address. I worked in a building with no fourth, fourteenth, or twentyfourth floor! (But there was a 13th floor....)

But you're at WDW - I am sure that it doesn't hold true! (However, I will wager that the hotels at Hong Kong Disneyland don't have a fourth floor or fourteenth floor either.... )

Check in was no problem...we were on 11th floor and one incredible nite on 14th floor. the view is stupendous. seeing the castle turn colors at night and opening your curtains in the morning and just gazing at it is phenemonal.
my view was straight at castle which was not dead center but tad to right.
I felt like I could touch space mountain though..

to get to pool, you take elevator to main level turn left and walk down the steps....
We preferred the more quiet pool...you can look out onto the lagoon and much quieter...

hope you made ressies for CG.....so worth it!!!!!!!!

Well It's 1am right now, and I'm sitting on my balcony @ the CR, with my laptop.

weird that the Wifi works out in the Balcony! But It's fun. and yes the castle does change colors throughout the night. It's greenish-blue right now, and Space Mountain is all lit up.

Pulling an ALL nighter tonight, Gotta be on M.E. at 4:30 this morning, for my 7:30 flight back home

UPDATE (Sort of) on the Renovations: -- 10th Floor Tower is Still Blocked Off, and that looks to be the Only Work going on in the Towers as of now.

Haven't seen any action in the Wings, but Was only there for a Night.

Edit: Regarding WiFi -- Was on the Monorail coming back from the GF for Dinner @ the Cafe and out of all my times @ WDW I saw a kid probably like in his 20s on the Monorail using his laptop w/ the WiFi. Seemed kind of Creepy.

Then he got off the Monorail the CR, and used the net in the Lobby, then when I got back on the Monorail about 15 minutes later to go to MK he was back on the Monorail again w/ the laptop.

Hacker Maybe???

That's been making my mind go crazy all night.

Ugh! to monorail pc boy!!!!! How can you ride the monorail...AND NOT STARE OUT THE WINDOW in awe???????

5:39am Just arrived @ MCO.

Magical Express was very fast getting us back here, It only took about 45 minutes. (probably helped that it was at 4:30am, there were only us (2 ppl) and another 2 people on the Bus.

One thing I need to comment on is, They Definetely need to tone down the Stitch thing there. He is EVERYWHERE.

On the Maps to the Magic Kingdom, On the Monorail, Wake Up Call etc...

It gets REALLY annoying.

I'm surprised I'm able to type with being up for just about 24hours!

I will post pics when i arrive in Boston.
