ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!

Yeah...and we could use Lampy's RV!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hello everyone, TCD is back!

I had a great time with my brother visiting from Japan, and with Christmas and New Years.

This is a super busy time for me at work, getting things cranked up for the new year.

I am glad to see that this thread is still alive.

It is not yet time to let it go.

YEE-HAW!!!!!! (even though I'm a 'Techsan'!) Are you a T-sipper?
Naw, I went to hometown Lamar U. But alot of the Texas players are from around here.Their families live here.
Lots of T sips around here. Lots of Aggies around here. Lots of LSU alum around here! So it is always fun.
I had 5 buddies over to watch the game. We kept the girls awake hooting and hollering. Today was first day back from holidays and they will be falling asleep in class.

So you went to school in Lubbock, eh. My girls have played basketball tourneys in nearby Levelland. Lubbock is about 800 miles from me. That is a long way to travel and never leave Texas! (we flew there, but some parents drove)

Oh yeah, welcome back, TCD. Lampy posted your last creation on our 10 day holiday board. It is always important to make a good first impression.

800 miles! And I thought (it seemed anyway,) it was an all-day drive from Dallas to Lubbock (only 300 miles.) I actually lived down the hall from a girl (from Beaumont) who stayed in Lubbock over Thanksgiving break (back in '77, we still had the half-day of classes before Thanksgiving, remember?) because she didn't want to drive over 10 hrs. for such a short stay at home. That's great your DDs play basketball. Rachel is starting to show interest, and we want to encourage her.

Andrew, welcome back! You, Willie and Lampy alone (does that make sense?) keep this thread towards the top! :rotfl2:

How bout them HORNS!!!

Congratulations!

I am glad that Texas won! Man, that was quite a game.

I am also proud to say that my Florida Gators won their bowl game too. Sorry 'bout that Doogie.

And, how about my Buc's winning their division and making the NFL playoffs?

TCD

UGH Do we HAVE to talk about the NFL??? (See my Signature.....)

At least the Houston Texans have first draft pick. After that game last night, they have a tough choice. Reggie Bush, Vince Young or Matt Lienhart?
And I love David Carr, but it would be fun to use my season tickets to go watch Vince Young play! And he is from Houston. So, who knows.

Priscilla, that girl you met from Beaumont back in 1977, her name wasn't Peggy Meyers was it? Peggy was a friend of mine that went to Tech in 77. Her Dad was mayor of Beaumont at the time.

Willie

P.S. Nothing but Burnt Orange here today!

Dubbya- Looks like the thread for your next cruise has finally taken off in a better direction. Must have been that epic post.

Unfortunately, I would say that it now looks certain that there is no way that we will be joining you. Our school district has not yet officially released next year's calendar, but the word is that the Christmas break won't begin until 12/22, so that means final exams will be given all that week. There is no way that we can pull the kids out of school that week.

Welcome back TCD!!!! Looks like if "your Bucs" win they will come here to play "my Bears"!!!

THANKS everyone. Thanks to the rumors that the "Turkey Day Cruisers" are a wild bunch, I have started getting ribbed about being a trouble maker by my fellow boardmembers for our next cruise (November 25, 2006, Eastern). Hopefully I can live up to their impression of me. Maybe I will have to participate in the Go-Go night to keep up images.

Happy New Year everyone.

Tonya, welcome back! We sailed that Eastern in 03. Gassmandy, Izzinmac ets. were some fellow disers and usually sail that week. The joke of that sailing was the the prominade lounge and Diversions "ran out" of miller lite by Wednesday..... :rotfl2:

No, her name wasn't Peggy. Chances are, too, if her Dad was Mayor, she lived in the 'high-rise' girl's dorm, LOL! I lived in one of the 'middle-of-the-road' dorms.

Well folks, since it looks as if we're not ALL going to be able to cruise next Christmas, maybe we can plan for the cruise after that! Seriously. We have a deposit for spring break 2007, (even though I took a gamble on the dates, still waiting for the 2006-2007 school calendar.) Or..(gritting teeth, ducking for cover :duck: ) sailing together on ANOTHER line? (WHAT? IS SHE CRAZY.) After this Turkey Day cruise, I've decided (for us), more than the cruise line, it's the 'wild and crazy' bunch that made it so memorable. I know cost is an issue for many, but then again, I don't think another cruise line's waitstaff would 'go the extra mile' like DCL did. (Does anyone remember the table at which Goofyhauk sat? Their waiter brought a highchair out each night and put a plush 'Goofy' in it!

Howdy Priscilla- Yeah, I think I remember that. J/K-that was our table. :rotfl2: Our servers were absolutely super! Excellent all the way! Alex and Daniel.

It is interesting that some of the trip reports for cruises after ours complain about bad service in the dining rooms. That was not our experience at all.

I also agree with you about the group making the cruise special. Paul/Goofyhauk is one unique man. We had a great time with him and his family.

Yeah and didn't you have like half the ship linked to your dining reservation??? :rotfl: I was pretty sure that everyone who had late dining was sitting at your table.

The late seating dining was pretty fun. The room was rocking a few times during the pirate night.

And yes, I think WHO you meet onboard is a big factor. Yall are a great group to sail with.

Rex Grossman, Todd Johnson, Ian Scott, Alex Brown........and the ONLY way to go to a bears playoff game is in the sky box! I was there in 85 when they played the Rams and -40 to -50 windchills....my beer froze before I got back to my seat.....before the stadium was redone Ford Credit had a skybox we use to use.....sorry, if you come out you'll have to hang at the Lampy bar!
