LIVE from the 10/15 magic!

First - DAVE MATTHEWS BAND ROCKS!!! Look at my user name, can you tell I am a fan?

Second..have they mentioned how to book the spa rooms when they open?

Who is Bingo King/Queen on your cruise??? :goodvibes

Damn that Patrick from Montreal. Taking the jackpot away from our ladygypsy! :headache::snooty:

Apparently there was a leak and some cabins on the 8th floor were flooded last night. I heard this at the final jackpot bingo game this afternoon. I tried to get over to the lady who was complaining...but once the game let out, the crowds were too nuts.

Hopefully some others on the 10/15 can fill in the details.

Jackpot Bingo total was a bit more than $4,900 and won by somebody who is NOT me. Actually...Patrick from Montreal. Grats, Patrick. Unless I stalk the 70's party...could this be the last I see of my sweet cruise-crush Travis? :love1:

Today we took in the napkin-folding seminar held by Beckie our server in Studio Sea and watched some of the ice carving stuff. We also fed our ugly portraits to the Shutters discard slot of doom. Ugh.

Weather here is cloudy, but no rain as of yet. We're looking forward to CC tomorrow and are kicking around planning a March trip to WDW to use our APs before they expire on 4/6. All because I need some vacation to look forward too else I get depressed.

Thank you all for the great PMs, too! This is fun for me because once I get home I can reread the thread and get an idea of what I did each day. :)

Semiformal night tonight. Am debating between the dress I wore to Palo or the aqua blue plungy top with my black dress pants. I'll make the dessert buffet tonight if it KILLS me.

(Dave Matthews Band on the speakers here in Cove...my life is complete)

Beckie is just awesome.....we love her to death!!! She now has Daniel as her assistant who was our assistant on the August repo....so please tell Daniel that Mary Jane, Susan and Cindy all say hello and that we miss him. Tell Beckie we say hello as well.

Here is some eye-candy for you.......click the link!!!

Hoping everyone is having a great time on CC today!!! Oh to be there now, instead of this cold, chilly, rainy, NJ day!!!

Oh, mmouse37, you evil person! I wonder if I can hide that pic of dear, dear Travis somewhere on my hard drive at home? :lovestruc

Firstly, apologies to cabin 8072 - right above us - for my inexperience in opening a bottle of champagne. The cork hit the ceiling and probably caused the cruisers above to pee themselves. Sorry! :confused3

Last night we wanted to see the 10:15 Michael Harrison show in Rockin' Bar D, but there were no seats left by the time we arrived at...10:15. The excess audience were told to go to Diversions, where the show would be broadcast on the screens. Unfortunately, the audio from the show wasn't piped in until 5 minutes from the end. One of the officers who was trying to get it working bought us all drinks as an apology. This was the only 'bad show' experience of the cruise.

Let's see...Castaway Cay. It rained a skosh this morning as we were disembarking and remained mostly cloudly most of the day. The Glass-Bottom boat excursion was cancelled, as was all parasailing other than the 11:00 and 11:30 excursions -- too windy! The sun came out later in the afternoon. Despite the clouds, I still manged to get a bumper crop of sunburn.

Today we snorkelled...I did too since we could enter from the beach. We kicked and mouth-breathed until we were worn out, but still didn't find the Mickey Statue. At least there's something left to look for when we come back! We had lunch at Cookie's (oh yum yum yum) and trammed to Serenity Bay, where some Konk Coolers were waiting for me. The water was chilly at first, but we adjusted quickly.

I live in Southern New Jersey, and have always lived about an hour from the Jersey Shore. By the time seashells reach my beaches, they're broken and discolored. The seashells here on Castaway Cay are white and round and just perfect in every way. I wish I could take them home with me. But I can't. I actually asked Beckie (our server -- she was working at the Serenity Bay BBQ place) if Disney planted the perfect little shells. Apparently they're natural. The Jersey shore will never be the same!

We floated, we napped, we had some ice cream, we heard rumors of a naked sunbather, and overall had a blast. But did you expect anything different?

Now we're motoring across the briney back to Port Canaveral. My husband is finishing packing up. (He's the type that is always ready for Vacation to end --we are highly incompatible in this area) I just stopped at Guest Relations to get our gratuity coupons. (Good tips for Beckie and Daniel and Stateroom Host Albert). I am mightily bummed, folks. Because of this, I'm avoiding the Til We Meet Again stuff and will head to the pub tonight. Maybe, if I bat the eyelashes and spin it right, I can get a pic taken with Travis. Ya think???

This'll probably be the last LIVE post, as Internet Access is going away at 8am tomorrow and I'll be an inconsolable wreck. As soon as I get the digital photos sorted out, I'll get them uploaded to Flickr.

Thank you ever so much for listening to me babble about my vacation. We'll be sure to leave 7072 nice and spiffy for tomorrow's group. I don't know when we'll be back on the Magic -- as the rates for next year and 2007 seem a bit steep for us. I don't know how you with kids do it.

My takeaways:
  • Indulge myself more. There is no reason why I can't have a pitcher of orange-infused water in my fridge like they have outside the Rainforest Room
  • Dress Code Wars: Jeans at dinner? I only noticed a few, and I was having such a good time on my own, it didn't even matter. I hereby apologize for the Dress Code posts where I expressed my discontent w/the dress code. I was wrong, and you can quote me.
  • Body Issues: Fat? Thin? Tan? Splotchy? Green? Put away the body image fears, get into the swimsuit, and have a blast. Everyone is too busy having their own vacation fun to look at your jiggles, if there are any.
  • Clumsy? Dance anyway...
  • Want to remember your vacation well? Do a "LIVE!" thread on DISboards...it helps! :)

First off, your entire post was probably the single best post I've ever read on these wonderful message boards. Secondly, I don't even leave for my cruise until January and I already miss it.

I think because of your post I will try to indulge myself, relax more and just enjoy the precious few days I will be onboard when I go. And for that, I thank you in advance. :goodvibes

I love your takeaways. You ought to devote a thread to just those. Thank you. And thank you for sharing your cruise with us. Happy trails! :goodvibes

Thanks for all your lovely comments! We are home safely. I've scanned a few Navigators already, but I think I'm going to call it a night and deal with the rest and my photos tomorrow.

We went to Pub night last night and laughed and laughed at the skit. Unfortunately, my camera battery died (and no time to recharge) so I missed what would have been the best shot ever...Travis kissing my husband on the cheek and leaving a lipstick print. Don't ask...if you haven't seen the "If I were not upon the sea" skit...I don't want to spoil. (I was jealous!!!)

After my husband went to sleep, I wandered around Deck 4. It was raining, and I was feeling quite melancholy. Eh.

We went to breakfast at Parrot Cay...we had the 8:00am seating. While we were eating, the debarkation line stretched from the gangway all the way into Parrot Cay. I don't know what the holdup was. But once it started moving, we were off the boat in 20 minutes and headed to the bus 20 minutes after that. Our server, Beckie, finished her contract as of this morning and was heading home for a spell. And at bingo this week Travis made mention of going 'on vacation' after this week too.

Parrot Cay drydock changes: The large leaves are gone from over the windows, and now there are ivory colored cloth shades that can be pulled down over the portholes. The rug was replaced...now it's a calmer print on a mostly dark brown border. There is an ivory colored curtain that can be pulled around the buffet station at the front of the restaurant, and smaller ivory curtains that can separate the tables along the sides of the restaurant. These changes were made because many people weren't pleased with the very casual look of PC, especially on formal and semi formal nights. So I was told.

Link to pics tomorrow. :)

Thx again Kimberly! I know how you felt on the last night, I have walked around the decks late at night EVERY time I've cruised.

Welcome home! Thanks so much for the live commentary during your cruise!! :sunny: Looking forward to seeing your pictures! :3dglasses

All except the underwater camera ones...they need to be developed.

I put them on Flickr...you can see the first photo here . The first 10 or so photos are from the night before the cruise...we stayed at Pop Century and ate at Epcot.

Note: I call my husband "Baron vonPlaque" or BvP for short. Long story stemming from the fact that he doesn't want his name splattered all over the web.

Enjoy!

Hey Kimberly - sorry we didn't get a chance to meet on this cruise...was hoping you'd stop by our DISmeet on Sunday.

I read that you were on the 12-metre regatta on Tuesday when we were docked in St. Martin! Jason and I were the two obnoxious Magic passengers who ended up racing with all those people from England...ring a bell at all?

I worked much harder on that excursion than I expected to, but it was a blast, wasn't it?

Brenda :goodvibes

Oh My Gosh! I LOVED seeing all of your pictures! I got some great laughs. :rotfl2: Thanks for sharing...!!! :wave2:
