We love it! We're in room 2310, a dedicated 2 br villa. Very close to the "leisure pool" and bus stop. A few notes:

Our room was ready when we arrived....at 9:30 AM Friday morning. This was a great perk.

All of the staff here have been very kind and helpful. Mark, from bell services, was especially nice.

The furnishings are very nice. The bed was very, very comfortable. I like the DVD in the living room. I do wish Disney would offer premium cable packages. I would pay extra for HBO, Showtime, etc.

The pools: Great! Both the main "themed" pool and the "leisure" pool. It does appear that the main pool may be too small once all buildings are opened though, but right now, it's no problem.

The washer and dryer combo seem to be an improved model and are very quiet. Maytag Neptune.

High speed internet access is $9.95 for 24 hours contiguous use. It is very fast and very user friendly.

PI fireworks last night were awesome. And the viewing area was perfect!

The building we're staying in opened only 3 weeks ago, according to the CM at the front desk.

I love the landscaping. The grass used in general landscaping is beautiful, the perfect color green and very uniform but.....it has a coarse texture. Not very "pedestrian friendly".

Construction: Yep, it's there and you can't miss it, but it hasn't affected my stay negatively. Kind of interesting actually.

Artist Palette: I'm disappointed with this. The menu selection is very limited. They should re-evaluate this. Also, it wasn't open when I was there this morning at 7:30. What about the early risers or those trying to get a head start on the crowds at the park? Here too, Disney should reconsider.

Here are a few photos.

Thanks for the live update on SSR. Glad you are enjoying your stay! Have a great time!:)

I think it is kind of cool that years from now you will be able to stay, "remember when we saw those buildings being built, why we walked up hill in the snow barefooted just to look at them."

the construction didn't bother us either.

I did not notice this when I toured the one and two bedrooms. We stayed in a studio, so obviously didn't use one. Wow. I noticed what I thought to be an upgrade in the plumbing fixtures also. Loved that the lever you pull up and down to stop up the bathroom sink said "waste" on it.

I guess they had to make some upgrades in order to start charging the $95 and $100 per point that they might soon be charging.

LOL! You came to WDW to watch TV? :) :p

Thanks for taking the time to give us the report. Glad to hear you love the resort.

Best wishes -

I'm glad you're having such a great time, and that the resort is so satisfying for you.

We are looking forward to watching the fireworks from the viewing area, but we have to wait until December.

Have a great stay.:D Headed that way in a few minutes to invade the relatives. They are in 2227 ( 2BDR). Their room was ready at 10A.M. yesterday. :D That was nice after they checked out from here. (OKW) They had 3 burnt out light bulbs last night and the motion detector A/C was not kicking on when it was supposed to. It took app. 45 minutes for maintainence, They love how the resort is themed and landscaped. We took a bus from Epcot to SSR yesterday afternoon. We were the only ones on the bus. The driver commented that after about 10 runs from SSR, that he has only carried about 25 people total. If only all the buses were like that. LOL pirate:

Thanks for the report. Could you tell us if the fireworks were viewable from you room or somewhere else on the grounds. Cant wait for our trip there. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have time to post some more reports.

Thanks for the live update and pictures. Glad you are enjoying the resort.

thanks for the pictures they are a great, in regard to the premium cable that will never happen because disney wants you out in the parks spending money.

Thanks so much for the report and great pictures.
I hope you continue to have a great time!!:D

Are you in Congress Park? Are you in a Courtyard view room. Do you also have a view of the quiet pool? I remember being in that area and thinking how great it would be to have a villa so close to the quiet pool and viewing area.

Thanks for checking in!

When I was there in May Artist Pal. was open pretty early. I know before 8 am because I had a spa appt. and arrived a little early so I had a yogurt parfait from there. It was during opening events, so maybe that was special.

Thank you for the great report and photos. It's brilliant to see my new "home"!

Thank you

Karen

Other than being a bit of an eyesore, the construction didn't bother us. We expected it so we tried to not think about it so much. The resort is absolutely beautiful -- the theming is gorgeous. So far it is my favorite decor of all. BTW, we were in Congress Park (14), first floor room 2536 studio garden view.

I can't wait for this resort to be complete so that we can get a 'real' feel for everything. It's so difficult to tell right now when it is so quiet, empty, bare and not complete. As of now it has none of the hustle and bustle of resorts like BCV, which is where we came from when checking into SSR.

Hubby and I really liked the offerings at Artist's Palette (had to stop myself from typing Animator's!!!). The flatbreads, sandwiches, etc. were plentiful. I'm vegetarian, so maybe I'm just so used to minimal choices....I thought there was plenty for me to choose from. I have to agree, though, that the offerings are much different than other resort's. We had only lunch and breakfast so far but look forward to many more meals.

On the other side of the water, we splurged on two meals at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. Hubby loves sushi and my mouth waters when thinking about the pumpkin ravioli! UUUMMMMM!!!!

Thank you for sharing your trip report & photos! Continue to have a fun vacation!

AS FOR THE MAIN POOL,

I have to agree that it is way to small. I paid a visit to it last week when I was there and thought the same thing. When that place is done, and all the rooms ar full, I am sure you will hear the complaining then. Some poor planning I think.

It's funny you say this because just yesterday hubby and I were talking and we agreed that we'll probably never have the same experience at the main pool as we had in May. We were the first on the slide in the morning, there were only 3 other people in the pool with us. We went down the slide 5 or 6 times in a row without any waits, etc. We had the pool practically to ourselves!!!It'll probably never be like that again!

We'll just have to check out the quiet pools from now on!

Thanks for the great report and taking the time while you are vacationing. Cant wait for our turn!
