Hi,

I am writing this from my room at POR. Does anyone have any questions?

We arrived this past Saturday around 1pm and we were able to get into our rooms right away. We are traveling with friends and their three children so I had two rooms booked with our APs. We got the adjoining rooms we requested. They are in AB buidling 38. It is a short walk over the bridge to the main pool area and buildings and it is also a short walk to the North Bus Depot.

Everything is going well. I hope I am not jinxing us ;) . The only issue was with the highspeed internet access. The "resort paper" that you get at checkin tells you to refer to the information card in your room. There was no card in the room so I stopped by the Lobby Concierge desk and they said to contact housekeeping for a highspeed cord. I connected the cord and I could not and still cannot get a connection. I stopped by Lobby Concierge again to ask about the information card and was told "we don't have any information on the high speed internet it is assumed you know what to do once housekeeping gives you the cord. No one in housekeeping would be able to help you out as most of them don't speak English anyway." I just said okay and walked away as The CM said this in a very matter of fact manner as if that was just the way it was. I decided it was not worth the effort and decided to go with dial up. It is slowered then what I am used to but it is just .75 a connection and I had no issues at all. I am using AOL.

So, any questions ask away.

Hi we just returned from POR and POFQ. For Highspeed access, our cord in POR was located on the nightstand between the beds. At POFQ it was on the table. No need to request anything from housekeeping. I just plugged in powered up and brought up an internet browers, at that point the only site I could get to was Disneyworld.com and screen to sign up for 24 continuous service.

Since you are at POR now maybe you could please answer a question for me
What size air mattress do you think would fit in the room in the AB section We don't need the trundle bed--just wanted to have something in case DH and 14 yr DS don't do well the double bed

A question along the same lines as Magic05, I wondered if the bedside table or the table next to the television was moveable to be able to fit an air mattress in that area. I had heard that the bedside table was moveable and a twin size airmattress could fit in the area. Thanks for the info and have a magical vacation!! :earsboy:

Bed are doubles. Beds are not movable as they are on platforms, but the table next to the TV is movable. We did not try to move the nightstand between the beds, but I would assume it is movable. We put a small child's air mattress in between the 2 beds and it was find. You might also have room infront of the connecting door to the next room, if you are not using that.

Tiffany, hope your having a super time at POR. We arrive 17th December so can you ask the mousekeeping to do an extra clean in a special room just for us!! ;)

Hi,

We have two full size beds that are high off the floor and not moveable. There is a nightstand between the two beds. You might be able to fit an air matress on the floor in the area in front of the sinks but that could be an issue if anyone needed to use the bathroom durning the night.

On a serious note the room is clean and we have had no issues with housekeeping. Plenty of towels, soap and even a Mickey towel "animal". My husband and I were just discussing that if we were to travel again during this time of year and if we could not get a good rate at a Disney deluxe or the S/D we would stay here again.

So happy to hear all is well at POR as we arrive on the 28th for our first stay! Thanks for keeping us updated! Patty

Hi Patty,

We arrived home late last night. Had a great stay. I will be posting a more detailed review once we get settled in. Wish you a great stay.

Tiffany,

How did you request the adjoining rooms when booking on-line with your AP discount? I have heard you need to go through and book one room, and then go back and book the second room after your first reservation is complete. I need to book two rooms for June, and am not completely sure how to make sure they are adjoining!

Thanks! :flower:

Hi,

I used an online travel agency to book these rooms with the BRP rate. I used www.MouseEarVactions.com. My agent was Caryn Snelling. I even got a hand written thank you note for her for booking the trip through them. A very nice touch.

Tiffany.. I was wondering if POR had any Christmas decorations up yet and if so how were they??? We are thinking of staying there next Dec. and I am trying to decide between POR and CSR, which we have stayed at before and whose decorations look really nice. If they were up I would love it if you could give me your opinion on them.

Thanks so much

Hi,

POR did have their Xmas decorations up during our stay. It fun to wake up every morning and notice new Xmas decorations in the resorts and the parks. The decorations were cool. I am hoping to have my pictures from the trip uploaded to ShutterFly.com over the next day or so.
