Here we are, right here, right now.
2 days down:
We got in late(ish) Thurs. nite.
Had dinner DTD WP our must-do nite 1 eatery.
DH had the steak and frites I had the swordfish. His steak looked good and my swordfish was fantastic!! Enormous portion, mashed potatoes (meh),broccolini but the fish was the star! I asked for it to be done just medium and it was perfect! We started with calamari which was ok (again, huge portion) but extremely chewy~even for calamari.
Dessert was Snickers cheesecake (aka cheesecake with some caramel and chocolate syrup with chunks of Snickers strewn on top) ok, but def. not worth the calories. DH had the lava cake.......also not worth the calories.
DTD (and as we found out Friday) is drowning in dance/cheer pubescent girls and their mothers. LOTS of high pitched shrieking, giggling and tee-heeing~but oh well.:confused3 They are for the most well behaved. There also seem to be MANY!!!! Latin American tour groups and families (Disney must spend some serious $$ advertising)~I'm not quite certain what it is about tour groups, but boy for the most they could use a refresher course in manners:scared1::scared1:
The parks are far more crowded than I expected. We always travel during this time and have never encountered crowds like these!!!
Yesterday we had my fav lunch Akershus' buffet. I love the cheeses and cold fish.I was saddened to see there was no Gjetost on the cold buffet. To me the hot part of the lunch is something I could do without but I ordered the chicken and DH the chicken sandwich. He enjoyed both chicken dishes. I didn't eat my chicken, but could see it was moist. It came with a barley "risotto", perhaps one of the most ill conceived grain dishes ever. It crossed the line from insipid to icky<---yes, icky. I love the desserts and the rice cream is my fav. DH got a cupcake for his birthday and a song from the wait staff. They have added a cute bit to the princess greetings: all the little ones are asked to join in a princess parade. It was adorable and you could see the joy reflected in the litle girl's expressions. Dinner last nite was Cooke's; DH had fish and chips, I had the scallops. It was as always quite tasty. We used to do Raglan Road but skipped it last time and this time~we feel the quality has gone way downhill. Dessert at Cooke's is a choice of CCC or fruit cup. Both are worth a pass in favour of the free chcocolate bit @ Ghiradelli.
Today we had lunch at Harobur House. Both of us had the shrimp baskets~the shrimp quality has changed since Sept. The mgr. happened by and explained that they changed suppliers and she's hoping it is only temporary. It was CRAZY busy!! It seemed like a holiday weekend! After lunch we just meandered through the park, It was really, really crowded. We decided to do Space Mtn. and our wait was 56 min. TG for iPhone games. I knocked out 4 levels of Word Solitaire:) During the wait the skies opened up and we were met with wet, wet, wet! We lucked into Carousel of Progress and by the time that was over the rain had stopped. It was so crowded even People Mover had a line!!
Moseyed down Main St. and watched the glass blower, decided against another D&B bag but succumbed to a pair of Vinylmation ears and a cute little Vinylmation watch. If you like Vinylmation the watch is really cute. Dinner was Boma. Boma is my fav. dinner I love the fufu, curries, lentils, watermelon pickles and the hummus. DH seemed to really enjoy tonite's beef, chicken and ribs. I like the desserts although the crisp's crust was like oaten cement. They presented him with a lovely plate of little birthday treats.
Tomorrow is Ohana and I am loosening my waistband in anticipation of bread pudding.
Oh, we went to Karamel Küche: The smell is :love::love::love:
Oh my:yay::yay:
We are planning on heading back tomorrow so I can sample MORE!! Thus far I have only had the caramel corn which is great (how can freshly made caramel corn be bad:confused3) but I think there are some other options worthy of tasting:):);)
Sorry about the link but my connection is too slow to upload these
If there is anything you want me to snap a pic of etc. JLMK

We were interested in the feel of the resort. I am still deciding on if we should go to POFQ or spending the extra on the Polynesian. Have a good time. Let us know what you think.

Can't wait to hear what else you have at the Karamel place. I will get to try it myself in a few weeks. I suppose I could go to the weather channel but is it warm enough to go swimming? thanks

Antonio, I stayed at the Polynesian and it is very nice. There is alot to be said for being so close to the Magic Kingdom, and seeing Space Mountain and the Castle lit up at night across the water. POFQ is uniquely sized to feel intimate and amenities are within an easy walk of the rooms. Either way it is Disney, and you really can't go wrong. Here's some magical pixie dust for you while making decisions and plans. pixiedust:

Cheers to your celebration of surprises and wonderful husbands:love:
I didn't think we were going this year, and my husband gave the go ahead to make our resort reservations and airfare. Thank you Sweet Disney Husbands everywhere (SDH). There is nothing like a great enabler of multiple Disney trips. :cheer2:
