Good Morning everyone, I am coming to you live from Kidani Village! We love it here so far. I was not sold on this resort, even though we bought points here, but I am slowly falling in love with it. The pool is gorgeous and the staff is sooooo nice! Well we are going to get moving for the day... More details later!

Have a great time. We loved our stay and totally agree with the outstanding staff!

We have stayed at Jambo House many times and loved it, but we are really looking forward to our first Kidani stay towards the end of September.
Can't wait to hear more about your experences.

good morning all, just waking up after a long night at MK. We were there til almost 1am. I am not sure if I mentioned this or not, but we are in a standard studio with a view of the valet stand. Its not a bad view. The room is also beautiful. The only thing I don't care for here at Kidani is that I can't get my room cold enough for my liking here in the summer. I will deal with it though cause its not like I am sweating or anything. Myself like some others really wishes there was a dedicated counter service here at Kidani, maybe someday!

You might try calling maintenance to see if they will adjust the thermostat for you.
Have a great week!

Have a great time at Kidani! We were there in June and had a similar view. We were in the first bead to the right of the lobby (looking at the front) and it was great.

We loved our Kidani stay and our next 2 trips will be there.

Have fun! How is progress looking on the rest of the resort?

We stayed at AKV last week. We chose JH over KV because of counter service meals. The walk isn't a bad one. I agree with the posters who said that you should give maintenance a call. They have always been quick to respond to my requests. Have a great trip. Be sure to check out the night vision glasses viewing of animals offered each night at Jambo house.

I had the exact same problem with my standard view studio in June. EXCEPT, I was miserable because I can't sleep unless my room is really cool. I had the ceiling fan and my personal fan on me and still wasn't very comfortable. We were only there for 3 nights and I went downstairs and mentioned it every day. It was never fixed. BUT, I did receive a satisfactory response from DVC when I returned and wrote them about my experience.

We stopped over at Kidani to take a look earlier this week. I loved the pool, but I definitely agree it needs a CS restaurant. We went over to the one at Jambo House and didn't even see anything we liked there, but we pretty much eat in the villa anyway when we're not in the parks, so hopefully it won't bother us. We stayed at SSR in Jan. and never used their CS anyway, so I guess we'll be ok.

Hey everyone, Read the info below to overwrited the thermostat in the room.

This should fix the problem, please let me know.

One of the few significant complaints that DVC members have about their villas is the tendency of the air conditioning to turn off during the course of the night. This occurs because the units are motion-activated, and when people are asleep, they're... well, not moving. At least not moving enough to activate the motion-sensor unit and cause the air conditioing to turn on. Some members have tried to work around this by attaching shirts, paper towels, etc., to their room fans to create a constant source of movement in the room. Rather than going to such extremes, however, it might be easier to make use of these simple thermostat by pass instructions.

First, make yourself acquainted with the thermostat:

Next, decide if you would like to set your room temperature for 24 hours or for 3-4 days.

If you would like to set the temperature in your room for 24 hours:

Push the Power/On-Off button and the Down Arrow at the same time.

If you do this correctly, "bp" will appear on the readout.

You can then adjust the temperature to your desired setting.

If you would like to set the temperature in your room for 3-4 days:

Press the Power/On-Off button and the Fan/On-Auto buttons (the top two buttons) at the same time.

Press the Power/On-Off button and the Down Arrow (as indicated above) at the same time.

If you do this correctly, "bp" will appear on the readout.

You can then adjust the temperature to your desired setting.

I actually knew how to do this at the time and it still didn't work. My thermostat always read 68 degrees, but it was more like 75 - which to me sounded like a defective thermostat. After straightening up the room in the morning after my shower, the back of my neck would be sweating slightly. It truly was too warm.

spent the afternoon doing all of the things we wanted, EPCOT was quiet to say the least today. we had a excellent dinner at LeCellier, but the service was terrible. I wanted to say something to a manager and now I am kicking myself cause I didn't. We ate to early and now hear I set hungry again, but not hungry enough to walk to JH, and when we looked at the in room dining I didn't care much for it either...I don't know...I am still not totally sold on this place yet and I kinda miss my SSR....

When I try this I get "bp" and then two - - (dashes) and it doesn't do anything else. What do I do or what am I doing incorrectly?
(I'm at SSR)
