Live from Hilton Head June 15th-25th 2008, Anyone Else?

It sounds like we will have a good group of people there in June. We can not wait.

My sister ended up booking the 20th-27th. She is still on the wl for the 17-19th. So if worse comes to worse we will still have some vacation days together.

I would to try and plan a pot luck/cookout with everyone perhaps as our trip gets closer we can try to pick a day that works well for everyone, maybe instead of attending the low boil (overpriced imo) Also my ds (19) would be happy as a lark fishing everyday so maybe some of you all would be interested sharing a boat some days (it is too expensive for him to do everyday )

Things didn't work out so great for us. I couldn't get ANYTHING for my brohter and his family from the 22nd-27th. I can't wait list them either because I would have to pull points from 2009 and if the waitlist only comes through for them for 1 or 2 nights, it wouldn't be worth it for them to go and then I would have to cancel them and I would have to use those points I pulled. So......it will just be my family in a 1 bedroom and my parents in the studio as originally planned. I really wanted to do a big family trip but I should have planned better. Oh well, there's always next year. Or next or next or next.....

I am so sorry you didn't get the days for your brother's family. You could try to waitlist them for the entire stay--they won't fill it day by day then only the full time that way you wouldn't have holes.

We are going to call tomorrow and waitlist them for the whole stay. I'm going to waitlist for ANYTHING that comes up. I just know we would all have so much fun.

We're there June 15th-21st. We booked it on cash with the DVC discount a few months ago. It will be me (35), DH (35), dd5, and dd3. Can't wait for Star Spangled Tuesday!

HiPaula, Hi everyone else going to HH. Just checking in to see how those waitlist are going. We are still waiting for two days. Thank goodness we have cash ressies so we will be ok, but would rather use the points. How about everyone else. We are getting excited! Can't wait to go back. I have started making my list of "must haves" for HH!

I don't think my sis has heard anything about her waitlist, but I did read on one of the pages that someone got a waitlist for I am thinking this time frame. Which was great for them

I am trying to get some spring cleaning done--my goal to get rid of at least 4 boxes of things for the Goodwill. Amazing the clutter that accumulates. Hope everyone is having a great day

Gave up on the waitlist for my BIL and SIL for this year. We are still taking my parents. I'm going to save my HH points and book a GV at the 11 month window for 2010 for all of us, Myfamily of 4, my parents, BIL, SIL, neice and nephew. This time I'll plan it right! See you all in June!

Sorry to hear that you are giving up, I know and understand your frustration. You all will have a blast in 2010 in a GV. I keep looking at some HHI resales, but I really don't need anymore points--there is only so much vacation time in a year. I imagine the GV are pretty nice at HHI--the beach cottages are wonderful at Vero. See you in June!

Just checked the DVC website and got my two days! So glad I can cancel my cash ressie for those days! We can't wait to go back to HH!!!

We will be there June 22, 2008 for a week before WDW. Our kids can not wait. Also remember that if you want to save points you can usually get the 25% member discount for the friday and saturday nights when the point requirements are really high.

Can you always use pts for Sun to Thurs and book cash for Fri and Sat? Or must there be cash available rooms for this to happen.

Just curious so I can decide how many pts I need for HHI.

We booked our ressie with points Sun-Thurs and asked for a cash ressie with the DVC discount for Friday and Saturday. There was one available. They can link the reservations. Hope this helps!
