So here I sit, drinking my coffee and watching the local real estate TV show. I'm such a junkie for that show! Hey, there's one in Indigo Run that overlooks the golf course. Guy would like that. And it's only $1.2 million dollars. I've got the door open to the balcony because the weather's so nice. It's supposed to be warm, in the 70s, sunny, most of the week. Just the possibility of a few showers on Thanksgiving, I just hope they hold off until after the Turkey Trot road race in the morning. Ate at Captain Woody's for dinner tonight. Guy's off golfing at the Robert Trent Jones course. After he's back and done with his "Training run", we'll go have lunch, then maybe miniature golf, bird-watch, or hot tub. What to do-such a dilema! Just as we checked in yesterday, the CM came out with the cranberry nut cookies-such a welcome! Any questions?

I love reading those local realestate magazines!:lmao: what room did you get? My first trip is next May and I'm reading every word! I'm sooooo jealous! Have a great time.

It sounds like a great beginning of the week! Enjoy whatever you decide to do!

Last night we were in a studio, #1135. Then today we moved to a 1 BR, right next door to #1137. But unfortunately, the room wasn't ready at 11:00, so we had to bring our stuff downstairs and store it. It really feels like we're "home" though-this is our 8th trip to HHI, and of those we've spent 4 stays in this villa.

oh i so wish i was on a rocking chair on one of those balconies...drink some lemonade for me and enjoy every moment :cloud9:

It sounds like you are having a wonderful relaxing time. Enjoy the great weather!

Have a wonderful week- I can't wait to spend Thanksgiving there someday!:goodvibes

Lisa and I are checking in tomorrow! We simply cannot wait. I am so glad to hear that the weather is warmer than usual.

It's been 3 years since we've been to HHI. We loved it and can't wait to visit again in the future. Have a great time:)

Hi Simba's Mom,
Thanks for the live trip report. :goodvibes Sounds like a wonderful trip so far. Sending pixie dust to keep the rain away. :wizard:Please keep us updated as the week goes on. :thumbsup2

It looks like it will be sunny all week now. Up until a few days ago, the forecast had it raining on the Piggly Wiggly Turkey Trot run Thursday. Today Guy's golfing-as usual-then it's Kenny B's for lunch. While I'm waiting, I'm going to shower, then hit the hot tub. This is our first trip when the weather's been warm enough for the hot tub. Yesterday we ate at Salty Dog, then went to Sea Pines Forest Preserve/Lake Mary. Not sure about this afternoon=maybe we'll just go to Fish Haul Creek and walk the beach. Tomorrow Signe's for breakfast and to pick up our Thanksgiving Dinner, then over to Island Rec Center to get Guy's race packer.

Glad your here and having fun!
The weather has been very nice.

Thank's Simba's Mom.

We were originally supposed to arrive tomorrow. :sad2:

Maybe one day we will finally meet.

I look forward to seeing much more!

We hope to spend T-giving at HH in a couple of years. How was your reservation experience? Did you book on points or cash? 11 month or 7 month window? Did you have to waitlist??

One of my favorite things to do at HH is sit on the huge porch and drink coffee  We haven't been there since 2005...looking forward to going again within the next 2 years.

Have they finished enclosing the Deck outside Big Murggies?

We had a very nice meal there back in early October. They even provide wood (though we had charcoal).

I am sitting at work with no AC, no windows and it's 89 degrees F. It won't be fixed until next week.

In my mind, I am sitting on a balcony at HHI enjoying the view and the breeze.

We booked at 11 months and were OK. However, a few years ago, before we had points here, we tried to book at 7 months out and only got a few nights. After being on the waitlist for over 5 months, I checked MC and got it. No points, but I could book MC. I've met several people who tried to book at 7 months and could only get a few nights. They ended up moving mid-week. What struck me as a little odd was the family that wanted a 2 BR for the week, but it was only available for the first two nights, so they ended up in a 1 BR for the rest of the week-a little odd since there are so few 1 BRs.

I haven't seen any signs of them enclosing the deck outside Big Murgie's Den. What I did notice is that the real nice little bird area outside building 18, with the bird feeders and bird house, is no more. I talked to Gwynethe, one of the naturalists, and apparently Disney Management decided that backyard bird feeding was unnatural and to be discouraged. Something about fearing the birds might get dependent and people might not be consistent. Whatever! Anyways, she emphasized that this was the Disney Management's decision, NOT the resort's idea. OK, but I miss that little area. Maybe Gwynethe does too!
