Live from HHI!

HHI, lucky you ::yes:: !!!

I'd trade Black Friday here in NY for HHI in a heartbeat !

Looking forward to reading more, enjoy your trip :goodvibes

If your lucky enough to see "Shadow" pet him for my Disney Kids. Enjoy your stay.

Shadow was the cause of a major concern for me. Yes, I saw and pet Shadow, but I was sure that the last time I saw her, she was lighter. So I checked a picture from several years ago, and sure enough, her fur is much redder and she has no light/white hairs. This really disturbed me until DH reminded me that since I die my hair, Shadow might also. Some women do like to cover up that white hair! And I'll bet Shadow wants to put her best paw forward.
Have your Disney Kids ever gotten a wake up call so that Mickey and Shadow can wake them up? Such a fun little touch!

We are headed for HH the day after Christmas. And I'm looking for things to do as we'll have family with us. Not so sure their idea of fun is sitting in a rocking chair and reading :rotfl::rotfl:

Tell me about Sea Pines Forest Preserve/Lake Mary. I've been to HH three times and I've not heard about that.

Sounds like you had a good time.

I wonder if Shadow has a sub. She is getting up in age.

I've also wondered what Disney would do when Shadow goes to that great marsh in the sky. Will they get a Shadow II, call a new dog Shadow...or just say...Shadow is gone and be done with it.

I'm an alumni at a school that has a live lion habitat. They are now on Leo III. That also reminds me. I think U of Georgia just introduced UGA VIII.

Lake Mary and the Sea Pines Forest Preserve isn't really of general interest so much. However, for birders, there's a rookery island, where egrets, herons, etc. nest. Also, the area is a great, natural, area for picnicing. We love to bird watch there, for warblers and water birds. Sometimes alligator sightings also.

No, Shadow is the same Shadow. Universities like Georgia (Ugga the bulldog), Texas (Bevo the Longhorn) , and Colorado (Ralphie the Buffalo) may need to replace their sports mascots as they "graduate", but Shadow will always be Shadow. That is part of the Disney Magic!

Actually, what probably happens is that Rapunzel sings to Shadow and wraps her magic hair around her every night.

I haven't seen any signs of them enclosing the deck outside Big Murgie's Den. What I did notice is that the real nice little bird area outside building 18, with the bird feeders and bird house, is no more. I talked to Gwynethe, one of the naturalists, and apparently Disney Management decided that backyard bird feeding was unnatural and to be discouraged. Something about fearing the birds might get dependent and people might not be consistent. Whatever! Anyways, she emphasized that this was the Disney Management's decision, NOT the resort's idea. OK, but I miss that little area. Maybe Gwynethe does too!

Actually, it makes sense about the birds. Around here (Savannah GA)the Cardinals have quit migrating all together, so, I put out food for them when I can. It's the same thing as why folks shouldn't feed the birds at WDW. They become dependent on the food.

When we were there in October, the cast member at the desk told us they were planning to screen it up. It must be fore later.

Everything sounds so wonderful....I'm jealous! We just moved from Ohio to South Carolina, so we were thinking HHI would be fun to explore. We've been calling and calling, and we're waitlisted, but it sounds like there is little hope based on how much everybody loves the place. We've never been and can't wait to try it. Maybe we'll just have to end up buying some points! (I wish!!) The CM at Member Services told me that HHI is even more competitive than Le Cellier and Cinderella's Royal Table. Sigh...

Here's to hoping! :goodvibes

It was great to see you two again! Hope your turkey dinner from Signe's was wonderful!

We visited on a Visa special, they seem to come around in the fall. We were there last Halloween time, and it was wonderful. We did wind up buying an add on, so it's definitely a risk you take!
