Hi all,
I am writing this from the Marriott Beach Place Towers on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. I traded with a friend who has this timeshare. He is in "my" Boardwalk and we are here.
First of all, let me say that it is really beautiful here. The weather has been PERFECT - 80's, sunny and no rain. The accomodations are beautiful, too. We are in a one bedroom which has lots of room - more than BW or BCV, but a bit less than OKW. The room looks out over the ocean - gorgeous. Okay, you know what is coming now, right? The big "BUT"...
But...
I MISS DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can I say? I just can't understand how people can ask over and over how I can stand to go to WDW over and over and don't I get bored? Are they KIDDING?!?!?!?!?!?!
While sitting on the beach, watching the awesome cars go by, walking the strip, etc., is great that is all there is to do here. No parades, no fireworks, no rides.
For the first time on a vacation, I am ready to go home. I never feel this way at Disney. The boys are loving it too, but they agree.
This trip has made all of us realize that we did absolutely the right thing buying into DVC.
Okay, time for me to shower so we can get a bite to eat. That is another thing - the food is fair, at best.
DISNEY, TAKE ME AWAY!!!!! :(

Thanks for sharing your trip report!

I agree with you... That's why I wish DVC would put more efforts into expanding the Concierge Collection (and/or the Buena Vista Trading Co)

There are MANY II destinations I'd love to visit - but I'm not interested in spending a whole week there! Just like many people were saying about the newly added Hershey resort. I'm sure it's a great place to visit - but not for 7 days!

Enjoy your trip - looks like you'll have great weather the rest of the week. Maybe you could swing by WDW this weekend?!? :)

I agree with you having stayed at a number of non WDW resorts, I am bored after one day, there is nothing like WDW resorts for things to do. I do like staying at casino resorts, it is much like WDW with plenty to do, but these other places, booooring. :)

I know what you mean. We spent a few days in Fort Lauderdale last month and had a wonderful time, BUT this was only because I knew we would be in Disney for 2 weeks this summer. We were fortunate to be able to spend our vacation in a friend's 2 bedroom/2 bath condo right on the intercoastal. Absolutely beautiful spot, but I kept comparing it to Disney. If you are looking for things to do, we went on the Carrie B. cruise and had a good time. Might be something your kids would like.

Have a Great Time!!

P.S. This is why we have NEVER exchanged our DVC with anyone, not even our wonderful friend who let us use his condo. LOL!!! We want it all to ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
