Hi Everyone
It's been very busy around here for the past few days so I haven't had the chance to visit the Internet Cafe.
We had good weather at St Marteen and St. Thomas. At St Marteen, we did the See & Sea excursion where you ride an A/C bus from the Dutch side to the French side. On the French side you get on a semi-sub to check out a coral reef. (I'll post more detail on the trip report forum when we get back.)Also we did shopping in Philipsburg. One suggestion here, take the water taxi.
At St Thomas, we went on our own to Megan's Bay in the morning. The afternoon, we did some shopping at the mall next to dock. We also did the cable car up the hill for some pictures. The highlight of the day was when the Magic was pulling away from the dock. The Magic sounded its normal ship horn to advise that we were leaving. Then the
RCCL ship sounded its horn in reply. The Magic sounded its horn again and the RCCL replied. This went on a couple of times. The DJ at the Sailway Deck Party
annouced the RCCL was just toying with the Magic when FINALLY the Magic sounded its signature horn blast "When You Wish Upon a Star" The RCCL fell silent.
Today we had some excitment from our normal day at sea. While we were enjoying the Champagne Brunch in Palo, the Captain came on the PA to advise the passengers that the ship had a medical emergency. We diverted to Grand Turk Island where one of the lifeboats took the passenger to the shore to meet an ambulance. I haven't heard what the nature of the emergency was but through my binoculars, it looked like the arm was bandaged. Out of the 2538 passengers on board, I hope that passenger has trip/medical insurance. It will be a costly trip back home if he didn't have it.
Some quick items here. Afternoon Bingo is over $8000. With that much money, I might have to buy a card or two. It's 70's disco down at the Rockin' D. The Captain's Cocktail Reception is tonight along with it being Formal Night at dinner.
I don't know if I will have a chance to post before the end of our Easter Cruise but I will try to post a Trip Report with more detail.
