Setting the stage:

Cast Members:
Me: Inga, 42yo, veteran WDW and occasional DLR visitor, from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada with an 8 day park hopper
DH: 44yo, same as above, Disney 'lov-a" and here for a Microsoft conference (and sneaking out to DLR whenever possible over the conference week!)
Stay: 8 days at the Anaheim Hilton Sept 10-17 2011

Day 3 summary:

Good stuff:
:) Tiffy's family restaurant had descent breakfast, eggs benedict were pretty good, if only the restaurant was a bit cleaner
:) Ariel's ride at DCA: amazing Ursela...awesome
:) DCA ferris wheel...awesome! Do the swinging baskets
:) World of Color...can't miss this...was in the wet zone and just got a bit misty. Is like the Bellagio fountain in Las Vegas, only on steroids
:) Having a glass of wine upstairs at the Wine Country Trattoria terrace before WOC began...it was nice and quiet out there. Also enjoyed sitting outside at the Trattoria for our WOC meal- the closest to a civilized adult meal I have had at DLR yet! (hadn't tried Napa yet though!)
:) oh the broccoli and cheese soup in the bread bowl...the size of my head it was! I almost ate the whole thing. Good think we walked alot today, I think it will take more than a 20 minute walk to wear that off. It was AWESOME and hope I can stay away from it tomorrow;)

Stuff that was...eh?
:rolleyes:Meal at Wine Country Trattoria was just, eh. But we got our WOC tickets so it was worth it...
 So yesterday I said it had been cool...today it was HOT! Never satisfied. Needed a little extra rest in the room mid afternoon today!

Day 4 awaits...I am solo tomorrow as DH is at his Microsoft course...

I'm glad you enjoyed the swinging gondolas on the ferris wheel. We call it MFWoD Mickey's Fun Wheel (of death), the death is when it swings. But I am glad that in DCA I was able to ride a mostly gone, classic ride.

Have a good day tomorrow. Don't miss the Animation Academy in DCA. Lots of people skip or have never been in it.

I'm glad we weren't the only ones that thought it was hot today. We were at Universal all day and just roasted in the tour line.

Thanks for the weather report! We're leaving right now for Uni and looks like sweaters in the park won't be necessary at all :)

I completely forgot to mention this...the last 2 times (including this visit) we visited DLR we went to the Animation Academy...super highlite, can't miss item is the Toy Story Zoetrope...I can sit and watch that for hours on end...it is a shame that folks don't take a few minutes to see it spin...I have seen folks walk in and walk out while it wasn't rotating...if they stuck around for just another 10 seconds they would see it transform!

Thanks for the reminder on that!

Definitely thought it was hotter on Monday vs Sunday...we'll see what Tuesday brings...

Caught that our first day. We walked in the room when it was just spinning without the strobe and thought it was kind of a lame effect. Then the strobe kicked on and both our jaws hit the floor. It really is cool.:thumbsup2

Totally agree...best tip sometimes, for anything throughout the parks, is to just wait and see what emerges!
