So, we are on day 3 of our trip and it is 110 right now. Seriously, the hottest I have ever experienced here and I have come in June, July, and September. It is hotter than WDW in August! It doesn't help that the parks don't open until 10am, because it is already so hot at that time. We only made it until 11:45 today and then my 2 toddlers and DH wanted to go swim. We are enjoying nap time and maybe will go back out later. The crowds yesterday were pretty high with the D23 event taking place. This morning was much more manageable. Just a little disappointed with such hot weather. Not what we expected at all for a late September trip...we were thinking 80's.

I was waiting for someone to report on the heat. Yeah, that's just nuts.

Hope it cools off for you and you can enjoy yourselves.

I was there this weekend and it was really hot. This is not normal weather for this time of year, but what my friends have said is that they really never had a summer this year except for the past 2 weeks. The heat does make it very uncomfortable to enjoy DL. My DD and I just kept going into stores to get through the park. I suggest not buying anything with chocolate on it because it will melt in less then 5 minutes. LOL

harpetj, I sympathize with you. Our weather here in So Cal this week is SO bizarre and out of the usual. It has been unbearably hot the last couple of days.

Over 100 at the end of September? That's just crazy for us here. It truly is just so awful hot. I can imagine it throwing a crimp in your vacation. Sorry. :(

Stay cool...

I was wondering when someone would post from the parks. It's crazy HOT, HOT, HOT right now. No way you could have predicted it since it's definitely not the norm. In fact downtown LA hit the all time record high for this date.

Hopefully today was the worst of it though. The mid day break was a great idea. Take it easy and stay hydrated. Hopefully you'll still have a good time, just at a slower pace.

On Accuweather earlier, it had 'dropped' (ha!!) from 113 degrees to 112, with a "real feel" of 118 degrees!!:scared1::scared1:

I don't even like it when it's 85 degrees outside - you can imagine how this heat is not amusing me at all!:rotfl2: At least I am inside, though. I am not forced to have to be outside, stuck in a hot car or working on a roof somewhere. And I do not envy those folks standing in long lines at DLR. It gets to a point where you are just too uncomfortable to have fun.

I bet the GCH lobby is exceptionally packed today, and the lines for Splash and GRR are miles long!!

But I expected a heatwave in the Fall. I said on the DIS a while back that I had a hunch that our mild Summer was going to mean that Fall would be extremely hot - playing 'catch-up,' in a way. This hot I was not expecting, but hot, yes!

We are lucky to be here for a week, so we will just take it slow right now. Also it is nice to have toddlers because they NEED naps! So that forces us to take a break and go slow as well. Grandma's flight just got in so maybe me and DH can brave the heat this evening and catch a few rides on our own. For what it is worth, a hot day at Disneyland is better than any day at home!!!!:woohoo:

I really hope it cools down in the evening so you guys can enjoy your vacation!! This weather is unbelievable! My little one and I were in the park Thursday and Friday last week, and the weather was definitely far hotter than we like it/can stand even then.

I've been watching the weather because we are going next week, and I can't believe how HOT it is down there! It was 104 up in Nor Cal today and it's supposed to stay in the triple digits all week, but I couldn't imagine it being that hot while on vacation. I hope it cools off for you and stays cooler for our trip next week. :thumbsup2

I can't believe the heat!
Although, I must say, I'm envious of it.
I went for a 10k bike ride today when it started to pour rain and even produce little white stuff falling from the sky.
Needless to say, I'm wishing for nicer weather soon.

We had very cold weather July 2-12! I had to buy my daughter a coat at target! We were expecting hot hot hot! The day we went to SeaWorld, they had a record low.
Sorry it's so hot for your fall trip!

I had been sitting inside all day, with the drapes pulled shut and the windows closed. I could tell it was hot, but it was not until I had to run outside to grab something from my client that I got hit with a 'wall' of heat and I realized what 112 degrees feels like!! I couldn't believe it. It hadn't been even close to this hot in L.A. since 1990, and it's never been 113 degrees before in the history of Los Angeles. It literally felt like what it feels like when I am standing in front of my oven and the door to the oven is open. I felt like I was walking into an oven.

And so I quickly made my way back inside!! There is NO way I could have withstood a day at DLR in this kind of heat. I am usually down for the count in anything over 85 degrees. If I had plans to be at DLR and found out it was going to be this hot, I'd be spending a lot of time at the hotel pool!

Yeah today was brutal, it was 118 where I live for most of the day and currently 102. I almost started melting when I was at the mechanic shop earlier today. Only good thing with this temp for me is that its preparing me for my vegas run next week haha.

Yeah, we really didn't have summer this year...we were all saying it would hit in Sept/Oct. I was hoping to go Saturday but think we may skip it. Its supposed to go down to the high 80s but still yuck!

I hear ya ~ we visited over the 4th of July weekend and I had to buy my DD a $20 Mickey sweatshirt while we were waiting for F! Our high today was 84 tomorrow it'll be 89 ~ that's lovely but what the OP is experiencing at DLR doesn't sound too fun - but you have a great attitude, get there for the early hours *too bad the parks open so late* take a mid day break and then go back in the evening.

Ha ha, Caimakale! I was thinking the same thing. I'm loving this weather in Utah, though. We were at the Utes game on Saturday and it couldn't have been more perfect. Looking forward to more mild weather while we rake up all these fallen leaves.

Even if the weather at Disney is in the 50's for a high in December....I'll be in heaven!

We'll be there in December too (as if you couldn't tell from my countdown ticker...12/8 to 12/12)! 50's will be a treat compared to 30's...that's short sleeve weather for me.

I was at the game Saturday too. We started tailgating at 1:00, it got a little warm mid-afternoon but come game time, it was perfect! GO UTES! :cheer2:

118 in LA!!! That is truely nuts....especially when October begins this week!!!
It was like 13 where I live in Nor Cal....crazy.

Hey summer...you're just a tad off schedule this year! ;)
