We're live from the DLH. A few misc comments:

We have an awesome room at the DLH. Big props to Phil at the front desk for taking an extended time with us to find us a good room (we asked for Sierra, away from an elevator). We're in room 2661, Sierra Tower, 8th floor, facing DTD. We can see DL (watched the fireworks sitting on the daybed last night) and DCA.

We didn't hit DL Friday until around 1:00. The crowd wasn't bad until around 3:30 and we left to swim before going back for Fantasmic and Wishes.

I don't want to sound like a snob. But if you can afford to part with $50/head for special seating for Fantismic, do it. We did it last time, but didn't this time. And boy were we wishing we had done it again.

Wishes - really good show. We were disappointed at first because it starts just WDW's version. But then it kicked into all the ride music part, and we really like it - especially the Indy part.

MSEP Saturday night at DCA - hardly any crowds. There were open spots all over.

Mornings in DL have been pretty good, especially Saturday EE. But by noon, DL feels pretty packed to us and we're off to swim.

Nights at DL have been brutal crowd-wise for us.

Well, DW is cleaned up from the pool and ready to eat. I think we're going to try getting into ESPN tonight. Maybe I'll check back in later if anyone has any questions.

Glad you're having a good trip!

It's not Wishes. It's called Remember Dreams Come True (or something like that). It has a little of the same music but is a completely different show.

We are live here as well, staying at the Ramada Maingate and so far pretty impressed! We stayed all day and night saturday, and it was jam packed. We came here in May thinking it would not be so crowded, boy were we wrong. On a lighter note, the crowds seemed lighter all morning and we went on all big rides before noon (we started at 10). Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Hi Snurk71 & Blacrose -- glad you're having such a good time, and the weather is nice -- cool in the mornings, warming up in the evenings.

My dd, Kelly, & I were there on Friday evening. We hadn't been on Monsters or the revised Haunted Mansion, so we went on those, then had dinner at Plaza Inn & had dinner - we had a great view of Remember, Dreams Come True fireworks show -- it was great.

Snurk71 - Great room! We've only stayed in the standard rooms at the DLH - it's nice to read you got a good room. The Electrical Parade route at DCA is so long it's easy to find a great spot to watch it, though most people congregate at the park entrance so they can rush on over to Disneyland.

Blackrose - I really like the Ramada Inn Maingate. It's in a good location, and I think the food courtyard works for the family on the go.

Sounds like you are having a good trip!

I have a question if you don't mind - how is the weather? We will be down there on the 18th - 24th, and when I check a few weather websites they vary between low 70s & high 70s/low 80s. Which is more accurate?

Thanks!

Each morning when we've left for the parks at 7:00 - 8:00 it's been in the low 60s. By the time we leave at noon to 1:00 for swimming, it's been 76 - 79.

Regarding swimming, the main pool has been a little cold for my taste. But the small pool by the workout center has been great. Friday the water was almost like bath water (probably too warm for some). But it has dropped 2-3 degrees each day since.

We actually have a standard room reservation. Phil (CM) said there aren't any standard rooms in Sierra. But he got us a room in Sierra anyway. He said it helped that we checked in at noon instead of 5:00. He actually said they were overbooked Friday night. So even more reason to be checking in at noon that day.

I'll post a pic of the view one of these days.

Yeah, I had Wishes on the brain because of how the music started. I watched the show Sunday night from further up Main Street, where it starts the hub, and it was a much better viewing spot (was halfway down MS Friday night and the trees block you if you're not in the middle of MS). And it didn't seem near as crowded Sunday as it was Friday.

It is a really good show - close to the Believe holiday version we saw in Nov 2002, which I think were the best I've ever seen.

More to share...

Today (Monday), we did DCA from 9:30 - 1:00. In that time we did Soarin', Monsters 3 times (we liked it), Crush, TOT, CA Scream, Maliboomer, GRR. DW and I had to swap out on the big rides too, since DD 5 can't ride them. So we were able to get a lot done in that amount of time - pretty low crowds.

We're going back to DCA for a couple of hours this evening to catch whatever we can. I think we're eating at Brennan's tonight for dinner. DW has been wanting the double chocolate bread pudding for a couple of years (our last trip in May 2004). I hope they still have it.

Thanks for the answer about the weather. I think I'm a little paranoid because we went last May on the same exact dates we are going this year, and as I was watching the weather forecast, it just kept getting hotter, and hotter - it was in the upper 80s the whole week, which wouldn't have been bad at all, but we just were expecting it to be cooler in May.

Was the line for Monster's very long? I've heard it can be bad.

Double chocolate bread pudding? My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
