Morning everyone! Sorry I was way too tired last night to post.
Docked early at the Crown Bay Pier in St. Thomas. We were up at 6 am yesterday to go through immigration which was nice and easy.
Went to Topsiders for some breakfast which was a thousand times better than Parrot Cay!
We took some chocolate croissants to go and then went back to bed for a couple of hours.
Woke up, got ready and headed down to Sessions which was the meeting place for our Screamin Eagle Jet Tour. We had to sign our life away on a waiver before they would let us go
we got Mickey stickers for our group and then went down to deck 1 to get off the ship.
We drove all the way over to Havensight which took us 30 minutes since there was so much traffic near the Havensight Mall area. We boarded our Jet Boat and were told that if we had anything that we didnt want to get wet to leave it at the pier with the owner of the boat. Hmmm, you see I didnt have time to do any research since we changed to the Eastern and I had planned for the Western, the only thing we knew about this tour is what was in the Excursion booklet, which said You may get wet. Hmmmm this is sooooo wrong. You WILL get wet and you WILL get soaked!! It was great though. We speeded out to where no other boats were and did some 360s left and right and then we stopped, which of course made a huge tidal wave over the top of our heads LOL!! We did this for about 40 minutes and then returned back. We were going pretty fast and by the time we were close to the dock again we were drying off a little so he did 2 stops and 2 turns really quickly, you know, just in case anyone had some DRY spots LOL!!
We were dripping wet when we got off and then took our taxi ride back to the Magic (only 12 mins back since all the traffic was heading in the opposite direction)
By the way, it was SCORCHING HOT in St. Thomas today!!! 38 freakin degrees celcius!!!!
We took a shower and dressed in some DRY clothes and headed up to deck 9 for some lunch at Plutos. This was VERY good!! Yummy chicken strips, good hot dog and a good chicken sandwich!!!
Rob needed some ice cream so we got some from Goofys Galley. The ice cream is just to the left of the Galley.
He also got some fruit at Goofys and we watched us sail away from St. Thomas
We watched the sunset from deck 4 in those comfy blue chairs and then bought some photos from Shutters.
We got some great photos done on Pirate Night, one of which became our favourite of the whole trip. It was the one with a plain white background, which looked great with our red/white/black costumes! The photographer who does this one is so nice, shes very soft and quiet and has a nice accent. She always asks people if they want to pose a certain way like Do you want to get on your tummies?? things like that so when she asked Rob Do you want to get on top of her? Rob was a little shocked and just looked at her then smiled really big and said Oh yeah! I want to get on top of her!!! LOLOLO
So he got on top of me while I was on my tummy, took his sword and was acting like he was about to cut my throat. It was great!! We plan on framing that one when we get home. I will scan it when I get home too so you can all see it.
We got ready for supper and then went down to the Ventriloquist Show in the WD Theatre. He was okay, a little cheesy but the finale was great. He had audience members using his puppets while he did the voice, this was SO funny!!
I grabbed a virgin strawberry daiquiri in Preludes yum yum!!
We went over to Studio Sea to play Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer, which has TOTALLY changed since the last time we played! You all get numbers at the beginning and then the computer randomly picks a number. Theres only 5 questions with TWO lifelines. You get a crystal figurine type thing with WWTBAM etched in it if you get all 5 questions. The questions were really easy for the most part.
A DISer ended up sitting next to us and her son was the first one to be called up so she went up with him. They had 3 easy questions and 2 so-so questions but they made it all the way and WON!! It was great fun and the next 4 guests who got in the hot seat also got all 5 questions right.
Time for supper in Animators. Tomato soup was okay, the rib of beef was good, the potatoes were fabulous but the dessert was amazing!!! Actually I ordered the cheesecake which was mediocre but Jeannine had ordered the cheesecake as well as something else. Shes not even sure what she ordered but when she tasted it, she let out a big HHHHMMMMMMMM! So we all tried it and LOVED IT! So we ordered two more to share! It was a triple chocolate something or other. Here I am devouring it
After supper, Rob downloaded everything, M & J came by to look at their photos which gave us a few laughs and then Rob checked his mail while I went up to the fabulous hot tub and pool. Sigh, I love the hot tub and pool!!
We sat out on the verandah for a bit and just enjoyed the sound of the ocean before heading to bed.
On a side note
the Captain just made an announcement that
Castaway Cay did suffer some damage from Hurricane Wilma and that the crew are doing their best to get the island all fixed up for us. The family beach I guess was hit hard but they are trying to do their best to have it open for tomorrow. On a sad note, the Castaway Rays have been cancelled, as they had promised (it is their environmental policy) that if a storm was near they would release all the stingrays so that they may find their own way to safety. So for those of you who have the Rays booked on the next few cruises, chances are good that it will be cancelled since they have to wait for the Rays to come back on their own.
As for the spa, I never asked about those new verandahs with the hot tubs, I will try my best to make it up there later and ask about it.
As for going through withdrawal when we get home, no worries, I will have tons of updates on my website! As Rob said, I have been having fun with our two digital cameras and video camera. I plan on making short videos for each theme park as well as a general trip video and a cruise video. Plus you will get to see way more photos than I have been posting here. Then in a few months I will be scrapping all of them and posting those!
