Live from BWV!

Checked in yesterday about 6pm. We've got a 2br BW view up on the 5th floor.

Was at MK for Rope Drop. MK was dead until about noon. The Brazillian tour groups don't seem to get up early. Not quite as many as I remember from last year.

Weather here is much better than OH. I'll take mid 50's to a high of zero any day.

Had the DME bus driver take 3 of my bags off the bus at CBR! Bell Service here was really great, called over and of course bell service had the 3 bags that ended up being left on the curb. One of the guys went over to get them while we went to dinner at Rose & Crown. We went up to the room and they brought them up. DH gave the guys a nice tip.

Other than the rather old appliances, the room is in good condition. Carpet looks new. IMHO the room is in better shape than the one we had at BCV last year. Pleasantly surprised after all the BWV room threads.

Off to Cape May for dinner tonight and back to MK.

Why were your bags on the bus with you?

We use 4 22" carry on bags. I don't check in bags 99% of the time. Sure not going to check bags for a 4 night trip.

To be honest a good bunch of people on Thursday looked like they were getting their big bags themselves and wheeling them over to DME. We got in at 4:45 pm. A bunch with those luggage carts, especially the soccer tourney people(one wanted to arrange DME there!)

Closed MK tonight. BW/Swolphin bus was sitting waiting for us! Been really lucky today with catching the buses. But I thought they handled Thanksgiving wonderfully and it seems to me to be continuing.

Between the morniing at the park and this evening, managed to ride SM 5x.
From what I read the rehab should be done by Thanksgiving(our next trip).

Dinner at Cape May was good, but you really need to watch on the weekends for eating early. A HUGE pre-wedding get together was booked at 5:30, about 30 people. Then tempers were flaring as the clam steamer was out of action for awhile. Seems like people get pretty testy when the chance of getting steamed clams is nil.

Splash is down now. Will reopen on Sunday. According to the rehab pg, Space is down from 4/19 until late 2009. Read somewhere it should reopen weekend b4 Thanksgiving.

The only real problem with our room at BCV was a 12 in snag in the carpet in the Master and the usual dinged up paint(seen that everywhere).

I was very surprised at the condition of our rooms here at BWV. I even had some BWV owners tell me last year in person the rooms needed rehab.

I will just state for everyone here, this is 6th stay at DVC in 2 yrs and have never had a room that had a major problem. We've been at SSR,BCV, VWL, VB and BWV. Now we do stay in 2brs, but the studio side here at BW is in great condition.

Disclaimer: I don't get on the floor and crawl around looking under furniture though.

Cranking kids are up, so we'll be off to AK. Will try to ride EE multiple times today.

Not missing that yuk weather at home!

Yes the rooms at BWV are supposed to be goiing through a "soft rehab." I hope this includes flat screen TVs as well as carpet, drapes, etc. I know I paid enough MFs for BWV this year for that. DW and I are at HHI now and have a flat screen in our 2 BR. We will be "home" at BWV in March. Can't wait.

Glad to hear your room is in pretty good shape! I heard all these horror stories before our last April trip, and our 2 bedroom was in excellent condition. How do you like the view? Had much problem with the boardwalk noise? I am so jealous....I miss my BWV! We didn't have any problems with the buses last April either. Waiting for more of your report!!!

Annie, don't worry about the room conditions. Most are just fine. What you need to decide is do you want to go to SAB? Cause there's no pool hopping. Both resorts will be fine.....in August, you should have no problem getting either one! If you can swing the points, do request a BW view if you decide to stay there!

We're also at BWV in a 1BR ground floor Boardwalk View unit (near the DVC welcome center). The room is in GREAT shape. There was a loud party roaming the boardwalk at 2AM Friday morning ... but didn't keep us up long and last night was perfect! All's well ... just cccccold.

Yeah bwvbound! Great about your room! Well, it might seem cold to you coming from San Diego, but yesterday we had a high of 12 degrees!!!! I'll take your FL. weather any day!! Enjoy your trip...

Brazilian Tour groups got up early today and were at AK today at park opening.
Loud and obnoxious, jet lag must have been bothering them yesterday.

Bus service again was excellent in for the Epcot resorts to and from AK. Keep up the good work Transportation Dept! AK bound bus stopped only at BW/Swan/Dolphin. Did the whole cluster on the way back but we bailed out at the 1st Swolphin.

Ate dinner at B&C and had our first and last kitchen sink. Played putt-putt then back to the room.

Overall I think the parks aren't as busy as last MLK weekend. Had a lot of ride delays today at AK. Safari was held up because of warthogs or some animals crossing the truck path. Technical ones on EE and Dino.

A family behind us on Dino was screaming through the whole ride(including the dad). The malfunction happened right before we pulled up to unload, but they were having a nervous breakdown between being scared on the ride and the hold up.

We've missed the cheerleaders(college, ch 36 is running an ongoing info program for them,)

Looks like they have updated the DVC channel, new footage with Casey cut in with the old stuff. Kind of like the Canada movie. Maybe old news but I think I didn't watch it over Thanksgiving.
