Our Holiday visit to the House of the Mouse
The Cast:
Me - single mom having some fun in WDW, love to plan, but sure hate following said plan, I'm a go with the flow kinda girl
DD1 - wants it her way or the highway
DD2 - wishes DD1 wasn't so bossy
Friday, December 15,2006 - Let the travel begin
Dallas to Orlando flight was on-time and fairly uneventful, except for about 30 minutes of prayer inducing turbulence. We landed at 6:25pm and were on our ME bus by 7pm. We sat for another 15 minutes waiting for someone else to join us, finally another family of 3 hopped on the bus, we dropped them at Coronado and then us at AKL.
Check in was super fast, walked right up to desk, they didn't have our bunkbeds as the hotel was 100% full that night, but they'd move us on Sat if we didn't mind
. Of course we didn't mind so we trekked up to our room (#5117), dropped our bags and sprinted (literally) to the Mara for our Zebra Dome fix and a refillable mug.
Got back to the room and since there really wasn't a park we could go to the girls decided to hit the pool. Water was nice and the girls only got cold when they got out, I, unfortunately (yeah right) left my swimsuit way back in Texas, so I just couldn't swim
.
When we got back to our room after the girl's swim, I decided to see what view our temporary room was, boy am I glad we weren't staying in that room the entire trip, it has a lovely view of the driveway and you can hear all the buses and cars coming and going.
Up next - we defect to Universal for Day 1 and get a new room
