so are any of u going to watch it???i am b/c i like some of the bands performing.....and i LOVE one of them too.......i think it is for a good cause and by any chance does anyone know what time it starts and what channel it is on????:goodvibes

I might.
I have like 4 channels that are airing it.
But I don't really care that much.

i really want to but i'll try i'm going to be gone half of the day tomorrow.

I have to work, which sucks.

I consider myself pretty environmentally friendly.
And I was before it became "cool", I've always read about global warming, and environmental issues and tried to keep informed. I started a recycling program at my work :goodvibes heehee.

But I truly do NOT think that this concert is going to do ANYTHING for the environment. People are just going to watch it to watch their favourite bands. I'm sure 60% of people who are watching it will not get any message out of it and will not change their lifestyles. I know they are trying, but when you get a bunch of humungous bands together for a good cause, people are just watching it for the humungous bands, not the cause.

Look at how much Live 8 did last year, not much. Except people wore those trendy white wristbands for a while.

I wanted to watch the concert just to see Jack Johnson, but he performed at about 2 in the morning, so I couldn't stay up to watch him :guilty:

I don't know the scheduale so I don't know when the bands are on and stuff. But Dave Matthews Band is on soon, want to see them. Also The Police, Bon Jovi, and Kelly Clarkson. I don't know who else is there. :confused3 I think it's for a great cause though, so hopefully it is successful.

You're right. It won't do anything. People don't care, and a lot of people already know what they can do, know the consequences. They just don't care and aren't willing to do it.
I'm sick of being pounded with the same information. Tell me something I don't know.
I already have done a lot of the things I can (minus things like cars, cos I don't drive).
And you're right, I'm only watching it to see certain artists.

I enjoyed Live 8 though, and I think it made a little bit of a difference. I was touched by some of the stories, they truly made me sad.
But the thing is:
What are people going to contribute to?
Signing a petition to end poverty where they see adorable impoverished kids on the television, or sending an SOS text message (which they would have to pay for) because they saw an image of a hurricane?
