Please dont judge. I am a grown woman who is terrified by clowns.:scared1: I know they have the clown pool at the Boardwalk which is why I have never stayed there but I would like to know if they have clowns as part of their live entertainment on the BW. Should I go or stay away?

I am also petrified by clowns!! We've been on the Boardwalk many times and I've never seen a real clown walking around. :)

You know, I do not like clowns either. But we do love the BWI! It is a beautiful resort. Somehow, that clown at the mouth of the pool slide doesn't scare me.

I have never seen a clown along the Boardwalk. Only old time looking street performers. A couple of weeks ago we saw a magician and a sword swallower. They are dressed in clothes from long ago. Their acts are very cute!

Another person with an active dislike of clowns and fortunately have never seen a live one at BW. And, like a PP, for whatever reason that clown slide doesn't bother me. I'm not a huge fan of the overall decor at BW but that has more to do with me not liking victorian styles than anything else. I don't like GF all that much for the same reason. There are a few decorations in the lobby of BW that get a little too close to clownville for my enjoyment (specifically two tiny chairs that look like sitting sunflower people - they're quite odd) but they're not large and are easily ignored. And, really, how much time do you spend in the lobby anyway?

I've always been weirded out by clowns so I'm sorry to hear about your fear

That being said, I've never seen an actual live clown on the boardwalk.

They do not have painted clowns that I have ever seen.

They do have one chap who is a quasi-clown/mime/comic performance artist who was one of our favorites on the last trip, but he does not wear makeup or typical clown clothing, with the exception of baggy black pants. He was hilarious, however, and had all the kids and adults in stitches.

clowns totally freak me out! So does "It's a small World!!"(chuckie) That being said I have stayed at the BW, at least 10 times. The only clown to which I have seen is the one on the pool slide, and I have learned to block that one out.

Never have seen any "Live" ones!

We were at the BW for 9 days in July and we never saw a clown walking around! If you stay on the Inn side, you don't even have to see the clown slide because that's located on the villa side. You can just use the Inn quiet pool. It's easy for me to say because I don't have a fear of clowns, but I don't think anyone should rule out an entire resort just because of a slide. But like I said, I don't know what it's like to be afraid of clowns, so maybe that slide could really bother some people. But I would recommend the BW, we had a great stay there!
