Live Boardwalk Webcam!!!

Sorry, HUGE thunderstorm right during Illuminations, even hard for us to see from the balcony...hopefully better the next few nights.

First, I agree, this is very neat and I wish there were more of them to see. But, WDW shut down all of their web cams right after 9/11 for security reasons. They didn't want would-be's scoping out their parks from afar.

So, I'm wondering what WDW's response would be to this.

Sorry to throw a wet blanket over the fun. Personally, I like it and would hope that WDW wouldn't care.

Actually I think the shutdown was 2 fold. I think it was for the reason you said, and for competition seeing attendances look.

However, I dont think Disney would care what they are doing. They'd never be able to stop people from doing it either unless they cut all online access in rooms, which won't happen.

You can very well video IN parks, though not live, and this isnt even in the park. I dont think they'd have any problems with it.

Sorry, but where our room is located is just too far "inside" the curve of the hotel for the camera to be able to see down the Boardwalk. Our balcony is also inside one of those cut-outs in the red building, so there's a small wall on either side. The only way to get the camera to see the boardwalk would be to somehow suspend it off the balcony, which we obviously can't do, or point it straight down. That's equally tricky and would only get you the small section of boardwalk just below our room. I know it's kinda far away, but from the angle it's at now you can see a section of the boardwalk down by the ESPN club. Tough to see people there, but you can see a section.

Wow, thanks! Like the rest of the disney addicts, I just love to get any glimmer of the World. Definitely will be trying to see if there's Illuminations visibility tonight.........lots of clouds right now, though..............

Did anyone see Illuminations tonight? I got home from church at 9:16 and couldn't see anything, but I wasn't sure if it was over by then? I though it lasted about 20 minutes, so maybe it's just too cloudy tonight.

Tomorrow we will point it across the lake to the Beach Club, probably won't be able to see too much, but it will be a different view and good for those of you who call that home.
