JUst returned from MOvies 9/15-9/21! Guess you get what you pay for! Our room flooded on our second morning,(they) what a joke,we moved ourselved to another room.....have heard about all the majic I care to hear about about upgrades and pixie dust.we were simply told they were sorry for the inconvience,oh well,probably will go back,but never to the AllStars.
 
Did you have a pipe break? Was all of your stuff ok?:eek:

I'm confused by the line that you "moved yourselves to another room". Are you talking about you luggage? The luggage handling at the Value resorts is different from the Moderate and Deluxe resorts. They have different names, but I can't remember them both. I know one has Bell Services, I can't remeber the other ones name.

I have read that the resorts are packed right now, so if you were expecting a free upgrade for your inconvenience, it could be that there was simply nothing available. I'm not sure an upgrade was even necessary. As long as you got a room that was as good as what you started with (minus the water), that should be acceptable.
 
I'm sorry that happened to you. Hope it didn't ruin your vacation too much. I do believe that you get what you pay for, but I will tell you that last Nov we stayed at the GF and the service was horrible. In fact housekeeping didn't even clean one of our rooms while we were there.
 
I guess I'm confused on how a flooded room (NOT a normal happening) can be the fault of the resort. If that happened at your house, would you never return to it? Would you expect your insurance company to upgrade you to a bigger house?

Sorry that happened on your vacation but those very infrequent things do happen. I'm glad you were able to be moved to a safer room and didn't have to leave the resort entirely. It sounded like a fluke thing since the entire resort wasn't shut down because of safety issues.

And a flooded room has nothing to do with the price you pay for a room. That could have happened at the Grand Floridian or any other deluxe place.
 

We also had a not so great experience the last time we stayed at the ASMovies (December 2006). We checked in around midnight, as we had told them when we made the reservation, for two rooms as we are a family of 7. When we got to the first room it was already occupied by someone's luggage. Fortunately, the owners of the luggage were not in the room yet, so we had to call the front desk and let them know that they gave us someone else's room. (Kind of distrubing. What if we were not honest people and stole something from their luggage???) ASMov said that they would change the other family's room and come and get their luggage. So while we waited we tried to get into our second room (not connecting-no problem to us). The key card wouldn't work. The front desk had to be notified three times about this but they never did get a keycard to work for that room. If we wanted in we always had to have someone with a master key let us in. By 2:30 AM I gave up on the issue as we were only there for one night.

We also were never given any "compensation" for the trouble. I didn't expect any but that did make the start to our vacation quite a pain in the ........:eek: I was so tired at that point anyway (8 months pregnant) I just wanted to get some sleep and move on to OKW the next morning. Still, there was no apologies for the several troubles we encountered. We were treated as just another bug to have to squash.

All that aside, I will definately stay there again as it is our favorite of the All Stars. And our very first stay there was a wonderful one when it was just myself and my oldest son back in 2001. Next time we are trying the POP!

Don't give up on the AS yet! It could have just been one bad experience. The next one might be the best stay possible~
