LittleMissMickey, Minnie & Agotta's Buddy Journal

Hi girls,

Amanda, thanks for the info on the challenge. I live in a small area so no Balley's for me. I do have a Y membership though and need to use it!

As you both know I've been battling hip/back issues and finally saw a DR which sent me to a physical therapist (PT). Well I've seen the PT twice and the first time was better than the second as the night before the second I popped my neck/upper shoulder out of place by simply rolling over in bed. Ive been told that it has to do with my lower back/hip problems. So she couldn't do much with me due to the pain. Im hoping to get a chiro apt for today. The PT told me to try swimming as a way to loosen the hip area along with therapy exercises. I really want these problems fixed so I can get on with it.

Ive been eating just awful this week. Pastries for bk, pizza, fried junk, you name it Ive ate it. Im hoping to make a fresh start next week though.

Hope you both are doing great!

Hi buddies!

Where are you??????

As for me I'm doing okay. Yesteray was my firstr real good day at eating so I"m back on track and doing good today so far also.

I was able to swim on Sunday which was my first exercise in a long time. My hip/back is still a mess and I have a sports orthopedic apt tomorrow so wish me luck please!!!!

Hope to hear from both of you!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh we have been bad buddies :( I am not doing great. Food has been pretty bad (taco bell last night) and not going to the gym regularly (but going!). Kevins says my waist looks smaller, so that is good. Just a lot of stuff going on at home and I am pretty emotional most of the time.

Hope you are both doing well!

Amanda - Thanks for checking in I have been wondering about you

(Feel free to PM me if you need an ear :listen: )

Thanks! Things are going ok. I weighed myself this morning though and am down 9 lbs since starting WW. I haven't really been doing it lately, so I think if I do and just get outside and walk/run I probably could easily drop those last 10 lbs or so.

How are you girls doing? Been working out or trying anything new?

Well, in honor of February being Fitness Fever Month (is that just here? everywhere?) I bought myself some new DVDs, the Crunch Fat Burning Dance and Cardio Dance Blast. I have not been doing very well working out wise up until February 1, and now I am trying so hard to be good! It helps that I am dogsitting and he requires 3-20 minute walks/day, so I have exercised every day this month!!! I am excited to try the DVDs... I need all the dance help I can get! I also figured these would help me tone up without building massive muscle like in TaeBo or any of those. I bought a journal, too, and am hoping to find someone in my group of friends who wants to do a race this summer!

How have you two been?! I will say... 9 pounds made me wish to join WW! I was at Target today, but passed up buying a bathroom scale because I decided that I didn't care what hte scale said so long as I can throw some of these big ol' clothes away! (to charity, of course).

Thanks for being here, buddies!
This week's goal for me: check in on here daily!

Have a good rest of your weekend!
Ashley

Ashley Great job on the exercise :cool1: I so glad that you checked in!

Amanda
I am thinking of giving WW a try. How did you get started? Did you purchase all the materials? I noticed a good selection on Ebay but wasn't sure what I needed.

I have not been able to exercise due to back/leg pain. I have another PT appointment today with a new therapist so hoping for relief soon.

I didn't actually sign up for WW. I found a couple good websites to look up point information. I keep a white board on the fridge to track my points for the day and there are certain foods I eat every day and know how many points.

This is the website to figure out points:

So I was going to check in daily, but I have a good excuse for yesterday! I stayed at a Superbowl party way too late drinking beer and eating hot dogs wrapped in bacon and brown sugar... Hmm... Oops!

Anyway, I still got my exercise in, which is good... I also won my Superbowl bet which means that Sam (boyfriend -- the one that I was broken up with, now not broken up with?? We've been confusing people for nine years now...) has to plan our Valentine's weekend!! That's the best bet I've ever won!

Maybe I should do WW, too, using those points online. How do you find out how many points you are allotted and whatnot? I will check it out. Any words from the wise??

Thanks, Buddies, for being here!

I think it's super easy!! And I never felt starved. Oh and they make these chocolate muffins that are so yummy!!

Ashley, good for you with the excercising!! Not so good with the hotdogs :lmao:

I had IHOP today, yummy! I have been on an emotional roller coaster lately that isn't going to end anytime soon. I am being as good as possible with my food choices.

Night girls!!

Girls!!! We have been so bad!! We need to get back on track!! I have gained 5 lbs :( Still down 5 from my starting weight.

I decided today to get back on track. I spent the weekend at my mom's doing nothing but watching movies and eating chocolate :rotfl2:

So what are we going to do? I need some help getting motivated!! Let's go girls!! pixiedust:

Oh dear, oh dear! We DO need to get back on track!

Last night started my challenge with my great girlfriend Julie. We are each putting in $10/month towards our "program fee," which will be refunded to us after a year of success towards a girls weekend! The program fee allows you to miss 5 days of exercise in a month, any days after that cost you $2.

We are beginning with just one focus, exercise, but each month we will add in another focus, such as water, balanced diet, no fast food, etc.

We have charts and the whole shebang, including a website -- we are so excited!

So... 30 minutes/day, here I come!

I started last night doing a video which confirmed it... I am a horrible dancer. Think Eileen on Seinfeld, and you will have an idea of what I look like in the privacy of my living room... :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo:  :dancer: I think I got all the dancing smilies...

Have a spectacular week!! (is it almost Friday? I don't recover well from four day weekends...)

Ashley

My Pilates Instructor (via Crunch Fitness Video) is a comedian! She just said, "Be sure to glue those inner thighs together..."

As if I had any other option!?!?!

Maybe I haven't done the video enough times?

Hope you're having an awesome day!

Ashley

I exercised again today! Eating has been a problem, but I am hungry due to TOM... and I spent all of last week in a horomonal fit. I hate being a woman sometimes!

Anyway, I have only missed like, 7 days in February (not great, but it could be worse!), so hopefully I have it in me to keep going...

I just need to work out before 11:40 pm. Any ideas as to how to get motivated to climb out of my super-comfy bed in the morning?

Hope you two are doing well! We've been slacker-buddies!

I just saw that I got an email that someone posted to the buddy thread so I had to come see.

I am so glad to see both of you back here :goodvibes

As for me I was doing well but then got stopped due to kidney stones. I'm feeling much better today though. I've been eating healthier this past week though because of the kidney problem. I just hope to be able to keep it up!

I have a major stressful week coming on Monday as it is finals week in my MBA course and I have an audit at work that I am responsible for so it will be something else.

After this is over I am some how some way going to find some sort of system to stick to.

I hope you both continue to post whenever you can. It is great to "hear from you!

Hey buddies!

Minnie -- I'll be thinking of you! You must be exhausted and drained! Kidneys, Master's and Work... YUCK! I hope you are able to have some control during this yucky time! I know I probably wouldn't...

Amanda -- You are so right, we need something to get us motivated as buddies! Maybe 40 lashes with a wet noodle if you don't check in and think about how you are doing??? I know you've been going through some rough days and I have been keeping you in my prayers! I can't wait until I have a spare moment to read The Kite Runner!

As for me, I am eating junk, but at least I've been working in the working out...

Friday I went line dancing, which is an incredible and FUN workout!

Today I got revved up for Dancing with the Stars by doing the Crunch Fat Burning Dance Party DVD. I hate this DVD and think I am going to return the other one that I bought and get a different Pilates one or something. Any recommendations?

Keep workin it, girls! :cool1:

I'll leave you with a thought to post somewhere where you can see it daily this week:

"If there is no dull and determined effort, there will be no brilliant achievement." Hsun-tzu

Hey! I am so glad you don't like the Crunch Fat Burning Dance Party DVD. I mean I hope you find something that works, but I almost bought that one yesterday. I eneded up buying Paula Abdul's Cardio Dance soemthing or other. I wanted to try it today, but all weekend my back has been killing me. I don't know if it's just from being lazy or if I I hurt myself, but I don't want to push it. I am working from home today, so maybe if I feel better later I will try it out.

Glad to see we are back on track. I am excite about reading the Kite Runner too! I need to get back into eating good food though. I had lots of junk this weekend.

Stay fit this weeke girls! Let's do lots of moving and drink lots of water (especially you Minnie!! My dh has kidney stones so I know what you are going through!)

ETA: I just finished Paula Abduls's Cardio Dance and I suck! :rotfl: My feet and brain refused to work together. I apparently can't do the charleston, lol. I did about 15 minutes of that and then an ab workout on my excercise ball. Maybe I will use the free weights later...

Ok girls, I have 3 weeks to fit back into my shorts and tanks!! Mom and I are going to DISNEY!! WHOOHOO!!

I am going to try and do another ball routine tonight, I should have done it this morning, but I can't shake this migraine. I am also going to try and get some cardio in this weekend.

Lunch today is salad with light dressing and apples w/peanut butter. Oatmeal was breakfast w/ banana. Dinner is breakfast since lent started and Dh can't have meat. Hope things are good with you ladies!! :cool1:

OMG Amanda when are you going :hyper: my mom and I are also planning a trip to WDW hopefully over a long weekend towards the end of the month. Right now the plane fares have been prohibitive though so it has been holding us back from booking :crazy2:

Does your DH not like Disney???? My DF doesnt but my DM loves it so we leave him at home and off we go!

I've been eating awful and not exercising but if we could just get this trip booked I would have something to look forward to and to try for. I'm going to look into the core WW plan and see if that would work better for me than the points system.
