Little Trip Report

We are waiting at the airport heading home and I just wanted to give a little report since I have read so many - background just me and my husband, vaccinated so no tips on testing, owners at aulani and our first time here was thanksgiving of 2020 so I thinkkkkk we were a little spoiled by the non existent crowds
pros: amazing weather - perfect
Room 1573 in the tower facing the luau island garden view but had ocean and luau view - clean although the trash was not emptied we called right away and they were extremely apologetic - otherwise clean and we believe it had a soft goods refurb - great shower.
Even though I have no kids I thought the character meet and greets were great especially when you could see them in the lazy river.
we rented a car through national - 450 seven days - my favorite thing we did was kayak to the sandbar in Kaneohe bay - amazing.
Food was decent but we went across the street to the market a lot for sandwiches alcohol (also had stopped at target on the way in) mac salad
Monkeypod happy hour was great - first time - our wallets can only afford happy hour
Cons: the gym being closed I understand this has been talked about already here but for me personally I don’t like running in the humidity so it would have been nice - it was also irritating seeing outdoor classes in the next lagoon over
Sunday being our last day left a sour taste in our mouths and we won’t do that again - the clientele changed drastically over the weekend, it felt packed - kids goofing off in the river going the wrong way no tubes - kids in the adult only hot tub which really really upset me because you know the adult only pool is no more….we went to tell a cast member and they said it was probably only adult only for certain hours - we were like what?! (Granted we asked a photo pass guy that was hanging around the hot tub) (all in all the cast members were great)
It’s still very irritating that there is not an adult only section to even sit - we sat everyday at the chairs in front of ama ama - we met a lot of members there! So it was quiet for the most part.
we learned that the season changed on 10/1 so the hours of the Pool changed - we couldn’t figure out why and then another member told us - so something to keep in mind if you prefer the hot tub to stay open till 10
I think that’s all - sorry it’s a little jumbled we don’t know when we will be back as we are trying to have enough points for wdw January 2023. Hopefully we can swing another fall 2022 trip ☺
