Little Tikes yard sale pricing..

I may have a yard sale in the next few weeks.

I have a question on pricing a used (but still in good shape) Little Tikes heavy duty wagon. ( the one that goes up to 100 lbs in it)

I know I paid about 60-80 for it new. It still works, has all the parts, etc.

If you were selling it what would you price it as?

If you really want to get rid of it, I'd probably start at $15 and be willing to go down to $10. If shopping, I wouldn't pay more than that for it. But, I also tend to mark my prices lower at yard sales to get rid of the stuff. I'd rather have the $10 then haul it back into my garage/basement taking up space.

I live on Long Island, and most of the little tyke stuff is priced about 10-15 dollars.. I got my sons "house" the log cabin one in perfect shape for 15 dollars, Those Ride in cars for between 5-10 dollars, HUGE Sand box for 5 dollars, The 60 dollar Little Tykes pool for 5 dollars.. I guess most people just want them OUT they are soo big.
But the good news is at that price they are usually the first things to go.. So no lugging in back and forth.. Good Luck

I was thinking $15-10, so I wasn't far off.

I do have a ride around car at my parents house as well. Maybe I can haul that back and sell that as well.

Personally I would not go no lower then $15.00

I just sold a Little Tykes riding truck (Like the Little Tykes Coupe Car but a truck) for $15.00

I am sure the wagon would go for the same

As far as your wagon goes, if the yoke (handle) is attached to the front wheels (the front wheels turn with the handle), I would ask for more than $10-$15. They don't make their wagons that way anymore, so they are worth more that way and you should be able to get $25. If the wheels are all free moving I would stick with the $20 to start. If people try to haggle you down below $15 point out that it is a quality Little Tikes wagon and not Step 2 or some other cheap imitator. If they are still unwilling to pay the $15 you should sell our item on Ebay (you can specify pick up only) and get it's true value from people who understand the value of the Little Tikes brand.

For the Toy Box I would charge $10. Unless it is one of the sports themed toy boxes, in which case I would charge $15.

And for all you people buying used Little Tikes toys, shame on you! Are your kids not worth a few extra dollars it would take to buy them brand new shiny Little Tikes toys? I realize that Little Tikes toys last practically forever and will work perfectly well if you buy them used, but who knows what people did with their toys before you bought them. The money you are wasting on Yu-Gi-Oh cards or Barbies would be much better spent buying brand new, long lasting plastic Little Tikes toys! Don't let your kids succomb to peer pressure and waste your valuable and hard earned money on toys and other items that they either won't want or won't have in a year because it didn't hold up. Teach your kids the real value of a dollar and buy "Toys that Last".

You could always list them on e-bay and state no shipping pu only. You will probably get more $$ for them than you would in a yard sale.
I have had my eye on e-bay because I had been looking for one of the older little tikes tool workbench. they dont make them anymore-the one I want.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was offended by the remarks about buying used toys. After four kids, I shudder to think how much I've spent on toys. Nearly all of them have been gently used when purchased. Toy prices are outrageous, regardless of the brand.

And believe me, we spend plenty of money on our children from birth to college (and probably beyond).

I thought I had laid it on thick enough to convey the sarcasm and not offend anyone. There is nothing wrong with buying used Little Tikes toys and it definitely doesn't make you any less of a parent (I just get paid more if you buy new ones ).

It is a wagon with the yoke on the front wheels. I was unaware that they stopped making them that way. When did they stop making them with the yoke attached?

I don't want to hassle with local pick up on Ebay. We've been selling for four years, and have gotten some really psycho bidders lately.

I understood that you meant the post tongue in cheek, but others may not have interpreted it that way.

Little Tikes stopped making them that way in 2001 to reduce cost. They are very much superior to the current wagons and would be worth every penny at $25.

The McDonald's in Stow is actually closer and easier to get to, so I never go to that one. However, it would only take the promise of a few free Monopoly pieces (from the next promotion) to persuade me to put forth the extra effort to go to the Hudson location.

Trades of Little Tikes toys for Monopoly pieces could also be arranged.

My husband used to work at the Stow one too! They are owned by the same person but he was moved to Hudson about 6 months ago. Anway, I wish I could do that little trade with you but unfortunately even I can't free monopoly pieces!

There is a new kitchen coming out soon that has the same features and it will be featured on TV. I would sell yours ASAP to get full price out of it. Toys R Us has already marked your kitchen down to $79.99 (I'm sure you paid $99.99 for it, but it did retail for as high as $109.99).

I would suggest you try selling it in the newspaper. Most newspapers have a day of the week where you can advertise items under $50 for anywhere from $0.25-$1. In the ad make sure to list the condition, the age and state that you paid $109.99 for it. Selling it as PU only on Ebay is another option.

Depending on the condition of your kitchen I would start at $40-$50 and be willing to go down to $30-$40.

Thats interesting about the wagon. I would guess we got the wagon either in 1996 or 1997. this one is older, but still has a lot of life in it.

I knew somone who designed toys for Little Tikes back in Ohio when I lived there. Unfortunately he no longer works there.
