This idea was mentioned to me and I thought it was terrific. Prior to your Disney trip, buy a little Disney something on sale at a Disney store if available and pack in your suitcase for each evening of your stay. Once the littles one fall asleep, lay the "gift" on the piillow. The person who told me about the idea said it was a gift from Tinkerbell. Each morning the little awoke to little something and they loved it! She said then each day did not start out with something from the souvenir shops. This held her over until later in the day when she was allowed to buy her one souvenir a day.

P.S. She said she covered the gifts with a beach towel in her suitcase and then used that towel for her family to sit on for parades. She said that she found it less likely for people to take a spot that had a personal towel down.

We shall see!

Never been on a family trip to WDW, but when we go this June I plan to have a "welcome to Disney World" gift bag for each of my boys. So far I have bought a stuffed Daisy, stuffed Gonzo, Chicken Little PJs each, a Mickey ball cap each, and a character Tee-shirt each. I got everything on sale or clearance either on-line or at the Disney store. I am hiding them until we get there and then I will secretly have the bag waiting for them with a note from Mickey and the gang.

We are arriving on the 2nd. Your children are adorable! I hope you have a great time!

When we stayed at WL in Oct. 2005, DD5 had a very loose tooth. The lights at night look as if Tink is in there, so we would keep saying, "look Tink's getting mad that tooth's not out". The last night before we left, it finally came out!! Guess what, Tinker Bell (not the tooth fairy) visited her and brought her "tinker bell" gifts. Let me tell you, the tooth fairy is an "el cheapo" (at $1.00 per tooth) compared to Tink. Tink brought $20 worth of fun gifts, but it is a great memory worth more than that!!! pixiedust:

Although tinkerbell has never visited, we have had some disney "magic" happen to us as well.

Our first time to disney DD(4) saw the castle and wanted so badly to go there. She loved anything princesses. I know this sounds mean but it did not come across that way. The first day at MK we told her that Cinderella had to invite her to the castle and Cinderella not only did but left a beautiful dress (cinderella costume) in her room with the formal invitation to attend breakfast the next morning before the park opened. You should have seen how excited she was. Cinderella really came through that year.

The next trip 18 months later. Aurora called her and left a beautiful dress for her at the front desk of our off-site hotel. It was amazing.

This year (4 years later) Mickey Mouse sent her a disney planning book and a pre-trip basket to kick off the trip.

Because we ususally drive ( and even when we fly) I take their backpacks and load them up with stuff some old freinds and alot of new surprises. Crayons coloring books toys and the like. It keeps them busy on the road or the plane.

We do the same thing but with "Pop-Pop's Magic Pillow" at my parent's home. They live in CO and we are in NJ. Everytime we visit there is a gift under his pillow every morning. Not Disney but it truly is fun watching your kid tossing pop-pop off his pillow every morning to get at the gift. My poor dad. He's such a good sport especially since this was Nana's idea. :rotfl: :rotfl:

OP: Love your tinkerbell ideas. I might have to try it on the next trip. :goodvibes

Do most of the kids wear a princess gown to the breakfast? We are going to the breakfast in Epcot. From what I heard that was the better of the two. So I thought I would try that one the first time with her. But if they wear one..I think your idea is wonderful and I will do the same.

We let her wear it, but carried extra clothes just in case. The only thing we insisted on was that she wear sneakers with the dress and DD was NOT happy about it, but she got over it. When Cindy saw that matching dress, she pouted a little that DD's dress looked better on DD then on her. It was so cute. I would highly recommend it. Not only that because Cinderella was able to give us a ADR before the park opened, we have some wonderful picture of DD, in the dress, with her dad in front of the castle with NO ONE else around. There were several other girls dressed up, but not as many as I would have thought, but honestly I would not have cared if she had been the only one. She looked so darn cute and was so happy.

Unfortunately Cinderella and Aurora overestimated her dress size, but this was good because DD was able to wear it for dress up at home. So she did end up changing, but again was not happy about it.
