need your help. staying at okw gv. what is the best way to get cribs and high chairs? i'll need two of each. staying 5 nites end of month. :cool1: :rotfl2:

I'm not sure cribs are available on site other than the pac-N-Plays. There will be one in the master closet, and you can probably request another one. The high chairs are the restaurant type, and will be in the front hall closet. If there is only one, you may also request a second at time of check-in. The last GV we had must have had several little ones before us, because there were already 2 high chairs in the dining room! ;)

We have used abbf.com They have evrything that you could possible need. They deliver and pick up at the resort, and their prices are resonable.

Another vote for ABBF (a baby's best friend). We have used them twice now and found everything to be in excellent condition. They even delivered a rocker to us on our first trip with DS. I was very impressed. Check them out at www.abbf.com

Jersey Joe,

From one Jersey guy to another....

We had our first trip in April at OKW. It was great! We ordered a crib when we got there because my son will not sleep in a pack n' play. (the rooms come with a pack n' play) OKW service is awsome. Even though we failed to request a crib, they brought us one quickly. It was a typical hotel crib, white metal with an o.k. mattress and linens. It served the purpose well because my son slept in it:).

My advice, request the cribs a.s.a.p. They are first come, first served.

Have a great time!!!

Stick with the PackNPlays! You can request a crib from Housekeeping but it is really scary looking. My girls would not stay in it. We used the one pack n Play that was in the room & requested another from Housekeeping. They came, took away the crib & left me another pack n play. We also requested two highchairs & they brought those also. They are the restaurant seats, not full high chairs.

A big Booh Yah!!!!!!!! to all the Jersey and other DVC'ers. Thanks for your advise. I bet at the end of the day , they'll be so tired that they could sleep anywhere. Can't wait. Thanks Again.

Another vote for ABBF. We used them for an exersaucer and an infant swing. Both items came wrapped. They were waiting for us at check in.

The cribs available are the same type as hospitals use. They are metal bars all around--which makes complete sterilization of the cribs possible. They come with Mickey and friends print crib sheets. Once you put in a nice crib blanket and a few of the baby's toys, the crib is just fine. The child will most likely acquire additional toys and plush Disney characters during the vacation, so that by the end of the week the crib will be quite festive!
We have found that once the little ones were past infanthood, they needed more room to spread out than a porta-crib provided. We have never had a little one with us, that had a problem with the WDW cribs--once we personalized them!
Although the wooden cribs are prettier, the metal cribs can be throughly sterilized, they are available right from your WDW resort and do not require a rental fee.
The high chairs are good for children that can sit up alone and do not require a tray.
Have a great trip!

I wouldn't bet on it. Think about it, strange place, strange room, and a different bed. Try to have the same set up as home. Forget about long lines and bad weather, nothing will mess up your trip like a cranky toddler.

We just returned from OKW yesterday, and I had requested a crib when I make the reservation. There was no crib in the room when we checked in so I called mousekeeping and was told that they didn't have metal cribs. When I told the girl that we had a metal crib when we stayed at VWL, she said that was the first time she'd heard about metal cribs, and she'd look into it. :confused3 We never did get one, and the baby slept in the pack 'n play.
We have used ABBF in the past and found it to be efficent and reasonably priced. OKW did supply us with bed rails for the three year old.

OK, I know this is going to sound weird but my hubby and I stayed at OKW just a month ago in a one bedroom and we found that our son slept best when the pack and play was IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM!! First and fore most the set up of the one bedroom at OKW is a little weird because you actually have to go into the master bedroom to get to the bathroom. Any time either of us had to use the restroom, get a change of clothes, etc while he was napping/asleep we had to be REALLY quiet. Not to mention that during babe's nap time the sun came in real strong through the 2 windows and the balcony door........he's used to a very dark room. One day he just didnt want to go to sleep and as we were looking around the resort for the darkest, quietest corner to place the pack and play it hit me that the pack and play just might fit in the laundry room. Sure enough it fit just right and we were able to 1) have it dark for him and 2) go freely in and out of the bedroom and bathroom!

It was nice and we will most certainly do it again!!! We dont mind having our toddler sleep in the laundry room!! :rotfl:

all you guys are great with your suggestions and help.

here's a big double BOOH-YAh to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:  :cool1:

Only the lower numbered 1 BR units at OKW have the single entrance to the the bathroom. I forget exactly which ones. But the units built in the next? phase have a second door through the laundry room! But with the doors to the bathroom and to the hallway closed it works great. We also have used the laundry room to set up the pack and play for the "nursery". It does give extra quiet space for the baby and the MB is available for the adults.. Another reason to love DVC.
