Little Ones Magic Hour

Little Ones Brochure handed out at the entrance to MK just before the opening at 7:55a for the "Little One's Magic Hour" guests.

So... the only piece of Disney literature that has an actual age on it is something they give you at the gate, when you're already there? If I went to MK for what they offered on the website (which does not mention an age limit) and they tried to turn me away, it would not be pretty. Not that I'm insane enough to be up at 8am on my vacation!

That is where I got mine. I also saw it in the lobby at my resort and in the packet they gave me at check in.

This debate could all be moot after September 30 anyway.

Does it say anywhere in the brochure that a guest must be 5 yrs old and under, besides the number 5 on the cover? You know, something to the point of "restricted to families with at least one child aged 5 and under".

Thanks for scanning the brochure!

Not that I could tell but I only glanced through it late last night.

IMHO, it doesn't really matter because no matter what it says in the brochure or elsewhere, some people will still rationalize why they 'should' be able to attend even though they don't have a child under 5. No official word or policy on it will be good enough for some if Disney doesn't enforce it. If its not enforced then it doesn't apply to 'them'. IMHO.

Very well said!!!

It's 5 AND under, not under 5....

What's to enforce? That's my whole point - there is no documentation anywhere I can find that says restricted to a certain age. WDW has age and height restrictions to so many attractions, so I can't believe they 'forgot' to have one for this. I don't think they had any intention to have this as a restricted event, just used it all as a marketing ploy for a slow time of year for them.

I find it extremely rude when posters say that my presence, or my children's presence, will spoil something for them, especially when it's not a restricted event (well, not yet, anyways).

If WDW decides to publish an age restriction, I'm fine with that. But to be told by others that certain people can't go???

It says "for kids 5 and under". How much more clear should they get? Do they need to say, "We will only be admitting children aged 5 and under. No adults will be admitted other than parents of children under five (please bring birth certificates of all family members). No children aged 6 and above will be admitted. No dogs will be admitted. No guinea pigs of any age will be admitted. Disney resort guests only will be admitted. No, that hotel on International Drive doesn't count even if they do have a Disney brochure in the lobby."?

Most 8-year-olds (and all adults) KNOW there's someone in the costume. Why can't it just be a magical time for preschoolers? Playing with Pooh is a lot more special for a three-year-old than for me.

If the MK isn't going to enforce age limits and hordes of adults come in for "time with Pooh!", it's going to ruin it for the little ones.
We went last week with my Ds2 and DD6. Yes DD6 knows there are people in the costumes but she still loves the characters like when she was 3. Maybe it's wishful thinking on her part. Anyway the rides are open in fantasyland for the kids and the characters play games but do not sign autographs. If I had no kids I would have probably slept in. I didn't notice if adults were there without kids or not. I was having too much fun to care :confused3 .

Thank goodness. I really don't get the autograph thing. Except I know it helps them sell books.

Looking forward to DS having a chance to frolic with his favorites! If only they had Buzz Lightyear there...

Oh....That would be so great if they had Woody and Buzz there...Wishful thinking... DD will be THRILLED to see Peter Pan & Wendy though.

I did the Magical Beginnings EMH this morning, and there were adults without kids. There were older kids as well. So I wouldn't be worried.

Yes, they do need to use the word "restricted" if they are not going to allow some people in. And I hope they'd get that across before people showed up at the gate. How difficult would it be to post it on the official website, with the other pertinent info? They have age/height restrictions all over the place on the website... :confused3

WDW already has written restrictions on who is allowed in on EMH days, and what animals are allowed (service ones only) so yes, the second half of your quote has occured already.

"Magic and Wonder for kids 5 and under" - so, the parents and older siblings don't get to go in either? What if you show up with just a two month old, or a newborn? They're not really kids, they're babies... If WDW wanted to, they could have gotten a lot more descriptive. Why didn't they?

I think they didn't get more descriptive because they didn't want to restrict this event to a certain age group. They just wanted to get more people to come - it's just a marketing ploy.
