Little Ones Magic Hour 9-27

Flame me if you must but here goes.

We were at the Little Ones magic Hour last Wednesday the 27th. It was very crowded compared to what others have reported prior to our trip. It was cute, but of course parents were pushing their kids to "play" with the characters. Little ones who really didn't have a clue were being pulled and carried through the games by the parents. DD who was a day shy of her 3rd birthday could even see it. After about the 3rd time a parent pushed her, she said, Mommy lets just ride.

Then we're waiting in line for Dumbo. Stitch is riding in one of the cars. All the kids in line are saying I want to ride with Stitch. DS who is 8 wanted to. I told him, this is a extra hour for little kids, Stitch is picking little ones to ride with him. He was OK with that. Then a lady about mid 50's goes in front of the kids and asks Stitch, can I ride with you? All these little kids are standing around. And Stitch you could tell reluctantly shakes his head OK. Then I have to re-explain to DS why this grown woman is riding with Stitch during, LITTLE ONES MAGIC HOUR.

After the ride was over , Stitch had to pull her out of the car. And all the little kids gathered around Stitch as the parents pulled them to the exits saying, Maybe you can ride with Stitch next time.

Sorry if adults want autographs, pics and such thats fine. But that was Little Ones Magic Hour. Yes, she got there first but thats because she happened to be right by the gate. And that to me doesn't matter. Especially when it was apparent there were plenty of kids on that ride who wanted to be with Stitch also.

Some people can just really kill the Magic, can't they? Yes, Disney brings out the kid in everyone, but that certainly doesn't mean you can push little kids out of the way to participate with something! That's just crazy.

Thats Awful...What a selfish woman. I know disney is for everyone ..adults and kids...But C'mon...that woman *knows* stich isn't real...all those kids think he is the real live Stitch...She could have made some little ones day...instead she *took for herself*.

Saying that though..I don't think it should be just the under 5's who joined in with the characters..all the little kids should be equal weater they are 2..5...or 7. If your 8 yr old was picked to ride I would have no problem at all with him riding...To be honest an 8 yr old probably gets more fum and memories from it than a 2 yr old....Just my opinion,,,no flames please.

Oh my!! I have always maintained the fact that when I go to Disney, I'll be doing all the kiddy things like autographs, photos, character meals, epcot passport, etc.... etc.... BUT at Little Ones Magic Hour - or even in general - if a character was on a ride, and I was first in line, I would turn around to the first little kiddy behind me and tell them Stitch is waiting for them to go ride with him...

I mean, I thought Stitch was a non-speaking character! What would you say to him on the way around?!

Sorry your experience went that way. That does sound ridiculous. Sounds like most of the Little Ones Extra Magic Hours went well though. We went on Wednesday the 20th, and it was truly magical. We got tons of great pictures and our family got to ride the Carousel with Chip & Dale, all by our selves!

We were there for the LOMH on 9/20, too. OMG! Can you believe how low the crowds were!!??? We've never seen the park that empty before. However, we didn't get there until 8:30am and the characters must have finished playing all the games with the kids. All they were doing were riding the rides with the kids. My kids were fine with just seeing the characters from a distance. I never told them about the games and stuff (didn't what to get their hopes up before we knew what to expect).

MK was low crowds for the rest of the day, then we left around 1pm to go back to swim. We went back to MK the next day and it was PACKED!!

We were there at the rope drop, and there were probably about 20 people total, including parents. There were more people checking in for breakfast at CRT - It was unbelievable! That whole hour was awesome!

I agree with you about Thursday though. Holy cow! It was like we were suddenly back in July. Mon - Wed were great park days that week, but I think a lot of folks arrived on Thursday, because WDW was more crowded in general, from then on.

We didn't go to the 9/27 one because we were eating at 1900 Park Fare that morning but I could tell it was busy. People were just streaming in. We did go on Friday and as I was expecting....it was very busy. The kids rode the carousel with Chip once (Dale went missing) and played some games but there were just soooo many parents pushing their kids up to the characters for pictures right in the middle of the games, it was chaos. We ended up leaving just before 9am and hit Animal Kingdom which was nice and quiet.

We were at the Magic Kingdom that day, standing in line for Dumbo and saw that lady riding with stitch. It would be totally cool to ride the ride with a character but I would never want to steal that experience from a child.

Wow. As an adult, I can't imagine denying a child the opportunity to ride on an attraction with a character, especially when the park is open specifically for young children and their families. Shame on that woman for doing that.

It is amazing how perception can be different for everyone! We were at MK on the 21st and thought that is nearly "empty"! We went to EMH and Tomorrowland was practically deserted for the first 1/2 hour. We weren't even going to do the Fantasyland rides until later in the week but since they had no lines we went ahead and did them anyway. We walked on EVERYTHING and had no perception of crowds until after the fireworks. We even walked up to see Spectromagic only about 30 minutes before and got a great spot at the hub in front of the castle right behind the front row of curb sitters.

After the fireworks, with everyone going the same place at once we thought it seemed crowded, but since we were not there the 3 days before we have not concept of how empty it could have been!

That's a real shame! I guess the word has really gotten out about LOMH. As a mid-50s woman who went to LOMH a few weeks ago, I am appalled at the behavior of this woman. I sat and took lots of pictures of kids interacting with characters-it was so sweet! But I can't imagine stealing their fun.
