Little mermaid vs pop century

Hello !
So in July our family of 4 will be returning to our favorite place in the world
Me, Dh, dd (5 yo) and ds (7 yo)

Pop or little mermaid room ?
We stayed in the cars suite last trip but this trip we are hitting the parks hard so we would rather save on the room

We love the grounds and pool at AOA
We wouldn't mind trying POP this year but I read so many reviews concerning the super thin walls at PoP
Is it really that bad?
We didn't experience any issues with that during our stay in the cars suite

Any insight would be helpful

We would choose Pop for the newly refurbished rooms with 2 Queen beds. The walls are the exact same thickness as AoA.

The only thing with LM rooms for me is that I find myself having to go in and out of my room frequently for things and the walk gets tiring. If you are the type that does not normally need to go between your room and the food court/guest services areas, then you should be fine. It may feel long at the end of a long day, but I know that I feel that way when I go back to my room most nights. I have decided that if I stay at AoA again, it will be in one of the family suites or with a car for a LM room. This is only based on the way I Disney.

As for Pop, I wanted to love it, but I just like it. My stay years ago in the 50's section felt blah. I stayed again last year in the '90s and I did like the room setup, but again it was just okay. I am not saying I would not stay there again, but I think I would try AoA or Movies first. For some reason, I had an amazing stay at Movies in the Toy Story section.

I don't think the noise at Pop is any better or worse than any of the other values. Between a Mermaid room at AoA and a room at Pop I'd pick Pop every time, just because of the queen beds. And you can always take some time to walk across the bridge and around the AoA grounds if your children are into seeing the big icons over there.

Pop and Little Mermaid rooms are basically the same- standard value rooms. But the POP rooms have been refurbished, so I'd choose that for a nicer updated room. And the Little Mermaid rooms are so far away from everything at AOA. POP still has plenty of fun kid appeal and you'll get a bigger, newer bed.

I’d pick pop. The rooms are nicer and you have a better chance of a short walk. You can always visit AoA, which is what we always do.

Pop. Love the layout. Nothing is far from pool/lobby. Mermaid is fine. But we like POP

The walls are the same at both resorts....
I've stayed at POP and LM at AOA.
As much as I love the movie I hated staying LM.
Way too far of a walk to the bus. I literally walked from my LM room to the POP bus faster.
I love everything about POP and would recommend it.

Pop. Mermaid rooms are a good walk every day and you could always walk over to AoA if you wanted to.

We stayed in a preferred room at POP last August and loved it, building 1 of the 50s section. So close to food court, buses, and bowling pin pool. Wouldn't hesitate to do again. Short walk to AoA food court also.

Apologies, but I can't (literally) see how this is possible. From the LM pool to the bus area is about 1,500 feet; a little more because the paths between Lion King aren't completely straight.) Just walking to the Generation Gap bridge appears to be a little over 2,000 feet, then there's the walk over the bridge, through the 60s, and either through or around Classic Hall. Mapping estimates about 3,000 feet total.

That walk is coming up at about 1,700 feet. Again, not 100% accurate because I can't follow the walking paths exactly (using Bing maps.) So - for people who feel LM is too far from everything, too remote, takes forever to get back and forth - it's all relative.

Another thing to consider, LM rooms are never discounted, whereas you may have a chance for a deal with a Pop stay.

Another vote for Pop. It's a super cute resort, I love the overall theming, and the new rooms are awesome. There's so much to see all over the resort, I think the kids will love it. You could always go walk around AoA if you want.

If you are planning to do some resort time, AoA might be preferable because their pool area is more jazzed up than Pop's is.

If you're really just going to be park-foced and a dip in a regular pool will do you, then choose Pop. The price is likely to be better, and the two queen beds were great. I also liked the additional floor space when the murphy bed was up, and we could use the table.

This comes down to personal preference, but I would not want to try to sleep in a double bed with someone for more than a single night. I just wouldn't get enough good rest. Your family might be better sleepers, so this may not apply to you. For my family, for a trip with 2 people, I'd probably choose AoA, but with 3 or 4, I'd choose Pop.

We have stayed at AOA LM five times but this last time we tried Pop with all the news about renovated rooms. My three daughters (13,8,5) all said nope to Pop. They didn’t like it at all. The landscaping is old and faded to me. The dining had less variety. Just not the same bubbly kiddie vibe as AOA. The Big Blue Pool is amazing for a value resort. And yes the walk to LM is longish but so is everywhere at Disney. We stayed Garden Wing at Contemporary and it was similar distance to our room there which was at the end. We love AOA and are headed back home there in July too! The girls love walking thru Lion King section with the music and bone yard play area. It’s just a great resort!

Who needs the bridge.
