Does anyone have any scoop on when (if ever) the Mermaid rooms at AOA will be included with discounts? It's so hard for me to suck it up and stay somewhere without one, am I just going to have to bite the bullet and pay rack rate to stay there?

I was in the same boat as you - waiting on a discount. From what I've found Disney doesn't seem to have issues with filling these rooms so discounts/specials are rare for the rooms.

You might get lucky with a third party offering site-wide discounts and be able to apply it to the LM AoA rooms.

except for the year the LM were ready early, there have been NO discounts,if you want to stay there, plan on paying rack rate.

So sad. We've booked for February 2015. I think we should just go ahead and pay for the rooms, if rates go down, then call to have the difference adjusted!

I recently booked a LM room at AoA via Orbitz and was able to use Orbitz's 15% off code. It has the same cancellation policy as through WDW website, and I also get the same benefits (like Magical Express).

Were you checking 2015 dates? Orbitz wont have WDW rooms for 2015 for a month or two. Last year I had to wait till October to book January. Was still a super deal.

Awesome! Can you book a dining plan and tickets with orbitz or no? And if so, do you still have a Disney resv. # to go online and make resv etc with or do you have to go through Orbitz? Sorry, I've only ever booked through Disney. Lol

No dining plan. You can still use MDE but any issues go through Orbitz.

I did call Orbitz to get my reservation code for booking BoG FP+ and they didn't have the right number (and were a bit rude). I then called WDW and had a magical time talking to someone who completely understood what I needed and was able to find me the number. She was very friendly and polite. I was also able to do online check-in and submitted my requests. It was no problem at all linking the reservation to MDE.
