How bad is the walk from the buses to LM, and how crowded are the buses going to the park? Dh is worried we will have to walk a mile then wait through 3-4 buses due to capacity issues before we get to the park.

Some will tell you the walk isn't bad. It was bad enough that we won't be staying there again. It was especially bad after a long day in the parks on our feet.

It's pretty bad. Especially tacked on to the end of the day when you've already logged 12 miles at the parks.
Like PP, we sure won't be staying there. The only time we did stay there was 1 night at the start of our trip when we arrived late. I wanted to try a room to see for myself both what I thought of them and the distance so this was the perfect time to test one out. They are a far walk and when you consider you are paying full price for them on top of that, just too many other options

The distance on the map was the only reason I didn't book there for this trip. I think if it was just hubby and me, we'd be fine (we've both lived in urban areas and used to routinely walk an insanely high amount of miles a day, so walking isn't a turnoff). But I didn't want to schlep a stroller that far.

It is a long trek from the buses to the LM rooms, esp. depending on where your room is located. As far as waiting for a bus, we never had an issue. Very prompt & lots of buses in our experience.

Aren't the Little Mermaid rooms all supposed to be dog friendly now? Didn't know they were booking nondog people? Just wondering?

The walk isn't terrible in the morning going to the parks, but after a long day in the parks and you just want to be back in your room.... It's a HIKE!!! We stayed there in May for a few days before moving over to the Poly and all we kept saying is thank goodness we didn't have to walk back to the LM room once we moved. Buses weren't bad for us when we stayed there the last few times.

If I understand things correctly, upcoming reservations with dogs will be filtered to that building, but that does not preclude non dog people from booking. But the stickies about dog policies probably have more information about those specifics.

I'm not keeping up but are they really going to be dog only? I can't imagine that will be the case for any of the Dog friendly resorts.

I joked that it was twice as long going as it was coming!

DD and I just came back from a stay at ASMu with last nt at AoA, since we had always wanted to try it. We did not have preferred at ASMu, so both were a little bit of a walk, but at least at ASMu we could request Broadway, and got end nearest Jazz which we asked for( loved the theming of our "street" !) so a little closer to front. It is a shame at AoA that the only single rooms are in LM and all the way in the back, and no way to choose anything else for 2 people, since all suites. We loved the theming, especially Cars, which to me felt so much like walking into the movie, but could never stay there as we would not need a suite. Would much rather stay at a preferred room at Pop and pay less to be closer to front.

I timed the walk from outside of the doors of Landscape of Flavors, to the edge of the Little Mermaid courtyard. It was a 4 minute walk. Evaluate for yourself whether that is too far a distance.

Also, just to clear up this point, the rooms in all of the dog resorts are being rented out to both dog and non-dog owners, and there weren't too many dogs in residence when we visited two weeks ago.

I stayed one night, and it was quite far, not that it bothered me as I am a walker, but it is quite a way from the main hub. The bus situation was a real pain, there were sooooo many people waiting for buses, but the worst for me was DME, I had to wait for the next one as the first was full, even though I was booked on to it, and it took an age to load everyone, I was panicking all the way I'd miss my flight. Never again.

I'm a pretty active person and I thought it was insanely long. Wouldn't stay there in the heat of summer.

The walk is long and somewhat barren-- not many trees or vegetation along the way. I hated it and wouldn't stay in LM rooms again.

It is a long walk.
Buses are efficient.
I wouldn't stay again due to the distance from LM to the main building and bus.

I didn’t mind the walk at all - and we were there for s half marathon! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The busses were excellent- so much better than CBR (which is my only point of comparison)
