Anyone know why the DLR version is opening a year before the WDW version?
Disneyland's is currently doing cast member previews and will start soft openings at the end of may.
It's where Golden Dreams used to be, just north of Paradise Bay (i.e. the body of water where World of Color is performed).Where exactly is the attraction? I can't seem to find it on the DCA map.

I think because MK is modeled after DL that it started a chain reaction.
TDO can't think of new ideas, so they just buy a copy of what TDA wanted to do or had done.
DCA's version was budgeted and contruction began before the plans for the MK's new Fanstasyland were even officially released.
Plus, MK is being built from scratch, wheras DCA had an empty building handy!
Remember just because the FLE wasn't publically announced doesn't mean they weren't thinking about it 15 years ago.
Also in DCA, the Golden Dreams building was taken down and cleared out, all except the dome on the end and then a wholly new building built for the Little Mermaid ride itself.
Also because DCA's was planned and started construction before the one coming to the MK.
Because Disneyland is better?![]()
I agree. Give me a ticket to either DLR park over a ticket to any WDW park.![]()

The fabled Western River Expedition? Expedition Everest? Finding Nemo the Musical? Space Mountain we had first. And I'm pretty sure we had plans to reimagineer Star Tours first.
While TDA does have a lot of good ideas, I think that's an unfair judgement.
The reimagineered Star Tours was definitely DLR first. In this case, the Little Mermaid was planned for DCA and then copied over at MK. Same has happened with Toy Story Midway Mania, Soarin, Captain EO and Turtle Talk. So for a lot of the more recent stuff this has been the case.
Granted, DLR has a few things that originated at WDW first---Muppets, Tower of Terror, It's Tough to be a Bug, etc. And WDW is just bigger, so yes, they have many original ideas too.
