Little House on the Prairie fans-- Who thought Almonzo was HOT!?!

They repeat the old episodes at 8pm on TVLand. That's the one that spawned this thread!
I think Hallmark channel has it on in the morning as well. 10am maybe...

When DS was first born, late last year, they had a 4am episode on that I managed to catch every day for about 6 months. Not sure if that one is still on, since he is sleeping I don't manage to get up and check it! :rotfl:

Wow..I didn't know that the actor who played Perciville died.. :( He was one of my favorites. How long ago was that??

We were watching TVland last night and it was the episode where Liza Jane is trying to hook up with Almanzo's buddy - can't remember his name. It was part one of two and who knows when we'll see the second part. What happens? I seem to remember it ending badly...doesn't she go somewhere and find out he got married or was married? It's been a while since I have seen it. Does she ever get married? And Almanzo was being a real sexist where he wouldn't let Laura teach after they got married even tho she got selected out of all the aplicants.

Dean Butler, the guy that plays Almanzo did get a little better looking when he played "Moondoggie" in the new Gidget series...the one where Gidget is a mom. Anyone remember that show? Anyone, anyone....(crickets chirp...)

Don't ask me what I was doing during those years. :sad2:

It turns out, that is James Cromwell...
He ends up being in love with someone else, she goes to some town to find him, and he is going to ask someone else to marry him. AWKWARD!! Of course, this is after she tells everyone she is going to get married to him and ends up moving out so that Laura and Almanzo can have the house to live in. (I think that's how I remember it)
I don't remember if she ever gets married...

Would you believe I actually have LEMON VERBINA plants in my yard. They remind me of that show. I admit I watch it all the time. I need a life........What about Marys first beau John. He was cute. Remember he went to college and got hit and killed in the street. Oh and he cheated on her too!

Another fan here . . and I thought Mary's first beau was a cutie also!
I know it was based on the book series, but I also know that writers wrote the tv series and in my opinion, they was a heck of a lot of death.

I am still reeling from that episode where the nother was dying and she tried to find parents for her three children . . . Remember me with a smile, or smoething like that. Mr. Edwards ended up adopting the kids in the end (Alicia?)

What an emotionally exhausting show it could be . . . .

On a lighter note, I loved NANCY, the mini-me for Nellie, and when Nellie came home and met Nancy the brat. Clever

Percival died in 1986. I don't remember hearing about it when it happened, but years later, the entire story came out.

I remember when John, Mary's fiancee, moved away to go to college and ended up romancing a "city girl". I remember mary taking the train ride home with Pa afterwards. Wasn't Bobby Brady on that train (and helped her overcome her sadness with a sandwich? :thumbsup2 )

Boy, do i watch too much tv.

Yes I remember the Gidget series Dean Butler was on after LHOP. Yeah I watch too much tv.

His name was Harve Miller! (I'm watching the second part right now!)

Eliza Jane eventually ends up with a fellow teacher she meets at a Walt Whitman lecture she attends with Laura. They don't make a big deal out of them hooking up, but it is implied at the end.

I'm paraphrasing here, but it was something like:
"Remember me with joy and laughter,
that is how I will remember you all.
But if you only remember me with tears and sadness,
then don't remember me at all."

If memory serves, that was written by Michael Landon and was used to honor him at his funeral as well.
