I was so excited when HBO was going to show the new series "LIttle Britian USA" I love the series on BBC America as does DD14 and DH. I was dissapointed with the show it was gross, and rude. But I guess that is what the American viewers want, but not me. It felt like they had to dumb it down. It just didnt compare to the original even with the same guys and the same characters. I guess I need to get the DVDs to watch.

"The computer says no."

Oh, that's disappointing. The first episode is going to be shown on British TV this coming Friday.

I had to laugh at your comment "The computer says no". I know someone in real life who looks and talks just like her!! :lmao:

Its so crazy when you can spot people that look like and act like someone on that show. For about a week after she saw it DD14 couldnt help herself, Id ask her a question and she would say that line "Computer says no." she would say it so dry. Id roll my eyes and snicker.

Some shows just can't transfer well and im not surprised the LB was one of them !

I heard a report on the radio that the Americans were not too happy about this, and it failed to deliver by being to crude+gross.
Personally i can't stand the programme, but Dh loves it.

I love The Office, but must admit i did'nt like or watch it when it was Americanised(is that the right word  :confused3 )I am sure you know what i mean.x.

Oh that's a shame...I was looking forward to watching this.

I think the reason LB did so well in the first place was the shock factor - I mean the "bitty" scetches were a bit much!

If they played it safe they'd just be another comedy show. LB already had a cult following on the states so they had to offer a bit more.

I'll be watching on Friday to see for myself. I have to admit some of the charactors are fantastic - I just love the diet leader.

I saw a trailer for it on Jonathon Ross on Friday and thought it was a bit much - not a massive fan of the show anyway :goodvibes

The American Office is absolutely brilliant, and a completely different animal to Gervais' version. The first series (of the US one) is a bit disappointing and trying to be like the UK one, but from series 2 onwards it is brilliant.

As for Little Britain, i can't think of (bar maybe The Vicar Of Dibley) a less funny show on telly to be honest

:goodvibes

I loved the first series of Little Britain. But I didn't enjoy the second as much and the third made uncomfortable viewing.

It seems to be a sad trait of modern sketch shows that they have the same characters in every programme.

I'm not that keen on Little Britain at all, I just don't find the majority of it funny :confused3

Same here. :thumbsup2

Although I will give the US version a go on Friday.

DH and DD love Little Britain and even went and watched the stage show which they say was brilliant.

DH is looking forward to watching this on friday, i will watch and see whats its like.

Little Britain I find like most shows of this type such as the old Harry Enfield show or Catherine Tate - some of it is funny and some of it not.

I like some of the characters they have done, some are extremely clever and very funny, some I find annoying.

I saw this tonight ~ I was expecting the worst so I was very pleasantly surprised.

As in Little Britain, some of it had me in stitches, other bits I found gross.

I'm looking forward to next week's. :goodvibes

It wasn't as bad as I feared - far less vomiting and urinating that their last series! :scared1:

I found most of it funny.

I watched it last night as I had sky+ it.

I thought some of it was hilarious, I was LOL. Other bits were not so good....what was with the woman and talking dog????? :confused3
