Literary Guild

Hi all

I recieved an offer to join The Literary Guild in the mail today. After taking a look through it, it seems like a good place to get books from. And lord knows how often i buy books.

I'm just wondering if anybody here has been a member of it and if so how did you like it? Would you recommend joining?

I was a member several years ago and never had a problem with them ( except what to do with all the books I was buying!!) I would join again if I had a place to store the books, so now I just use the library. If I buy a book I have a hard time parting with it!!

I have belonged to several book clubs (literary guild, mystery guild, the good cook, a craft one and a home and garden one) and never had any problems. Just make sure you send your forms back on time or you will get books you may not want. That happened to me a couple of times and they were good about taking them back. (they send out a special address label so you don't have to pay postage) But now they are all on-line so you can accept or reject the monthly offer immediately - very handy and it saves a stamp.

I still belong to the Mystery Guild and The Good Cook. The others keep sending me great offers to re-join and I probably will one of these days.

I'm going to checkout Zooba.com. They charge you $9.95 per month, you give them a list of books & they send you your #1 book every month. You can change your list at any time and cancel at any time. Sure sounds good.

I have belonged to them and almost every other one
Love books.
I prefer Doubleday.....they have basically the same books, but charge less.
Also after you meet your fulfillment,......quit. You can sign up again later
