Listener Poll - DLR "on the scene" segments

Do you like "being there" when we do an "on the scene" review?

  • Love it!!! Makes me feel part of the action - I can taste the food!

  • Eh. Not bad - just do it from a quiet spot.

  • Hearing you click sliverware makes me want to strangle you!

  • Stay in the studio baby!

Do you mind the background/crowd noise that comes with some of our possible segments, or do you want to throw your iPod out the window when we do that - we'd love to have your input!

I'd say it depends. Sometimes it is good, but other times you just want to hear the info without straining. If there is a lot of music in the background, that can get distracting. So I picked, the park is fine, but somewhere quiet. :) Best of both worlds would be to do some there, and some in a studio/home.

Can't wait to hear more DLR segments! :thumbsup2

I like the park background noise when it's not overwhelming, especially the ambient music and sounds like that. I'm not sure I'd want to hear the silverware clinking, though.

Oh, and only the 'natural' noises. I'm not a fan of music or sound effects overlaid in the back in studio (but I don't think that's what you're asking, in any case).

Looking forward to more segments from the West Coast. :)

Some background noise is okay for general ambience. If you are on the bench and I can hear the merry go round in the background. But mostly, I want to hear what you are saying!

You guys are great - keep it coming. This is really helping me to try to figure out the kinds of things you want to hear and the way you want to hear them!

Do you want an occasional piece of on the fly dining? How about ride experiences? What kinds of things do you perfer to be recorded inside and outside the parks?

My puzzlement now is that I'm working on a review piece I did in the Ballroom at the Disneyland Hotel and I have a lot of ambient noise - really frustrating, since I was hoping it would be quieter than that..... I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping the audio or just re-recording my comments in the studio. I may have to hand it to my husband to see what he can do (he's a professional editor for televison and has not stepped in as a stunt editor for me -yet....).

If he can't save it. I may have to ditch it and move on.

No no! Don't ditch it! If you can hear you and the background noise isn't overpowering- please leave it as is. You can always record something before warning people about the noise. . . I would love to hear it! :thumbsup2
