LISTEN TO "3" NOW!!! Britney Spears's new song, "3" to cause controversy???

The only thing that offends me about these lyrics and pretty much every other pop song lyrics, is that they all sound like they were written by a children . The only saving grace for any of these songs are their catchy beats.

I'm sure I'll be singing this one just like I end up singing any other Britney song, but I don't plan on wasting any money downloading it thats for sure.

Why would someone who is offended by these things be listening to Britney Spears in the first place?

By now it's pretty clear what her bread & butter is--this is nothing new for her.

Not much offends me and the lyrics of a Britney Spears song certainly aren't going to. If I'm going to spend time and energy being offended it isn't going to be over Spears or any song.
.

I agree!! what is the big deal? but then again I listen to Disturbed! and I also like Britney! I use it for my crunches!!:thumbsup2

Honestly, half the time you can't understand the words. :confused3 OMG I sound old!!

I don't let DD listen to some music, like the gangta rap from the kids next door-who are younger than her, and anything with alot of profanity or adult themes-this would be one of them.

Her music tastes have gone from Kidz Bop to Journey and The Goo Goo Dolls anyway so I'm not really worried.

Does it really take time and energy to be offended? :confused3
Rather, it takes time and energy to not be offended.

The default human condition seems to be self-motivated, self-driven, self-focused. Sure, there are natural tendencies that expands the locus of what someone considers part of or so wholly associated with their own self (i.e., family and maybe, just maybe, close friends), but generally, humans, like many other animals develop a default "us versus them" stimulus/response scenario.

Some (I would hope perhaps "most") people grow beyond their default perspective, and work to not be offended by other people believing and valuing things that go against their own personal beliefs and values. It is this acceptance of otherness that represents some work, and worthy work IMHO.

I couldn't care less what anyone has to say in song, books, etc. This is America, and we all have the right to say what we want. Just as we all have the choice to ignore what we wish.

Lots of drama over nothing, if you ask me.

Don't like it - don't listen to it. I don't get what the big deal is. :confused3

Jesus would tell you that you are a SLUT!

:headache: Yeah, just like he did to the woman at the well or the woman being stoned. Right, huh? He called them sluts and didn't show them an ounce of love at all, did he :confused3.

Not defending the song, but I will defend Jesus. Now, he might rip into her for using this crappy music, lyrics, and even his name to try to make even more money.

:thumbsup2 Exactly what I think and said. Lucky for us, Jesus' ways are different.

Au Contraire, Mon Bicker. (And how are you this fine Sunday, I might add)

If it was merely an incidence of Ms. Thang touting her own beliefs and values, that would be not only fine but also dandy. BUT, - and it is a big but - she decided to take the beliefs that many hold sacred and defile them for shock value and shock value alone by accusing three saints - and not lesser saints, mind you - of participating in deviant sexual acts. (Please don't repeat your deviant lecture. It would be a rerun.)

Ergo, her fault is assuming that my default would not find fault with her faulty accusations.

Live and let live, I say. As long as your livin' doesn't involve stepping on my toes, talkin' bout my momma, or pickin' on my saints...;)

ITA :thumbsup2 Pretty sure the Jesus I believe in would never ever call someone a slut.

And as for the song...typical Britney. Why is anyone surprised? I'm sure it'll be accompanied by a catchy beat and will get lots of radio play despite the crappy lyrics. After all, deep and meaningful isn't exactly her M.O. ;)

OP, you got your facts wrong. Nowhere were these lyrics CONFIRMED. The person in charge of her Official website just stated there were no lyrics in the song 3 about a threesome.

Jesus would tell you that you are a SLUT! What a trashy song, but it fits her trashy, slutty appearance. Who writes this crap?

Um, woah. What if someone called you a slut for writing a song?

It really is just a song, and it's shocking, yeah, but on the website it says those aren't the lyrics, right? It might just be a rumor.

Those of you who are offended - have you heard the song or even know if these are the real lyrics?
