I know alot of people these days are on sugar free or low sugar diets for various reason(diabetes, weight loss, etc.). I'm doing mostly sugar free myself cause I'm fat, need to lose weight, sugar sticks to me worse than anything else and everybody else in my family is diabetic.

I thought we might be able to start a thread here listing the different places at WDW where we can get sugar free, low sugar or no sugar added treats, snacks and desserts. Anybody else into this?

The current list:

Sugar free brownie--> Fountainview Cafe in EPCOT
Sugar free cheesecake--> Fountainview Cafe in EPCOT
Sugar free maple syrup--> Most Resort Food Courts and Kona at Poly.
Sugar free cheesecake--> Boardwalk Bakery
Sugar free strawberry Parfait--> Backlot Express in Disney Studios
Sugar free brownie--> Cosmic Rays in MK
Sugar free brownie--> Pinocchio Villiage Haus in MK
Sugar free butter pecan ice cream--> Mainstreet Ice Cream Parlor in MK
Sugar free vanilla ice cream--> Hollywood Scoops in Disney Studios
Sugar free cheesecake--> Coral Reef in EPCOT
No Sugar Added Chocolate Mousse--> Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe in EPCOT
Sugar free candy bars--> POP food court(can anyone verify other food courts?)
Sugar free Cheesecake--> Bomo. Must ask server for it.

If you find something on this list is not currently available; please let me know! :thumbsup2

Help me add to this list please(I will update it whenever someone ads to the list).

At the food courts to POP, ASMU and POR I have seen sugar free maple syrup for the pancakes and such

I am diabetic and I did not call ahead of time to schedule my desserts so everywhere we ate except for Kona they gave me a plate of fruit instead of an actual dessert. They were all plates of fruit enough to feed the whole family..LOL At Kona I had to eat the white choc. cheesecake and I did pay for it later (high sugar and headache), but it was SOOOOO good!!!

Check out Ourlaughingplace.com. The people who have the web site only eat sugar free deserts. They have lots of pictures of their deserts.

i don't consider me calling me fat, putting me down cause............i'm fat. :rotfl: got over the denial long ago. i'm cool with it now cause i've shaved off 75 pounds in the last 3 years. i also cut out sugar, pork, beef and most forms of cholesterol. still have many more pounds to go. TBH...i love being the 'Funny Fat Guy'

Thanx for your thoughts though. it really means alot to me.

My dad is a diabetic & we have never called to tell any restaurants - but when it is time for dessert, they always bring him something special. :mickeybar They have even told us that they will travel anywhere to get whatever he wants - he is always very excited about it because that is hard to come by.

There's a No Sugar Added Chocolate Mousse at Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe (the bakery in Norway) at Epcot.
There are also Sugar free candies in one of the shops in Italy at Epcot. (the shop with the masks)

At Kona's and most of the hotels will give Surgar Free Syrup when ask for.I did this last year. Also at 50'S PT if you call ahead they make up a sugar free milk shake for you. Brown Derby has a flourless cake. This year I will be carrying my Crystal to go packets with me and getting bottled water. I hate Coke a cola prefer other brands.

This is a great thread. We have very close friends that come to WDW with us alot and one of them is a diabetic. He is constantly trying to find sugar free desserts. We actually thought we looked around pretty good, but by the sounds of what I've read so far, we should be asking at alot more places. There is more out there than we thought.

i'm glad this thread is provong useful to some of you out there. i intend to add all items to the first post in the thread whenever someone posts. that way; if the thread conversation gets off topic; readers can still find the list of all the items at the top. anything else out there?

Thanks for the info. I'm diabetic and its good to know there are options.

updated, bump and glad to see this thread is of some help. though i have to admit i'm suprised this list isnt bigger by now. i'm gonna be on a serious hunt in Nov.

Can one call ahead to request a sugarfree dessert? My mom has diabetes and it would be great to arrange for sugarfree desserts to be available for our TS meals.

Thanks for the list. DHubby is on a sugar-free diet (I could benefit from a diet as well!) and this list will be helpful.

I was told by the Itinerary Planning Office that I could talk with the chef's at the TS restaurants to request sugar-free desserts before we get there on the 28th.

Hi Everyone. I'll be leaving for "the world" in about 2 hours. :Pinkbounc I am a diet controlled diabetic, so I will be on the great hunt for all of the sugar free/lo-carb items I can find. I'll let you know what I come up with when I get back. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was a VERY long list?!!
