List of restaurants with more unique food?

I know that Disney's restaurant menus have gotten a bit "dumbed down" more lately. I realize that there are some people who have really picky tastes, but there's already plenty of places for them. (We actually sat with a family at Teppenyaki in '06 where someone asked for ranch dressing...:lmao:)

DH and I like unique and unusual offerings. Which 1TS credit restaurants at WDW are the best to get stuff that's a bit off the beaten path and not typical american fare? Obviously Boma would be near the top of my list, and we're going to try the new Yak & Yeti (although that still looks quite tame to me.) Any other ideas for NON traditional TS restaurants that are ONE credit on the meal plan?

(I can get boring regular stuff at home - on vacation I want new and different!)

I'm trying to get any new last minute ideas before my 6 month ADR window opens up in ten days.

Bring on the unique restaurants! Thanks all! :goodvibes

Any of the World Showcase restaurants at Epcot-it's fun to try the food from the different countries. Several guests who are native to those countries often actually say that the food tastes very authentic. We are booked for the Biergarten in Germany and planning to do lunch at Chefs de France.

We are also excited for Boma & Jiko at the AKL. We love that kind of food and it's not so easy to find around our home town.

The other unique (but bear in mind pricey) option is Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian. NOT my kind of food, but from what I hear, a true culinary experience for those who appreciate unique dishes.

I think it depends on what you consider unique.

Spoodles

Maya Grill

San Angel Inn

Rose & Crown

Restaurant Marrakesh

Biergarten

The Brown Derby usually has things that are unique, last time I was there I had this delicous goat cheese totelloni and asian sping roll.

I never do the dining plan, so I don't know how many credits the different restaurants are, but if you're looking for unique, I'd check out:

bluezoo (Dolphin resort) for upscale seafood dishes, Todd English-style

Kona Cafe (Poly) asian flare, so you may not want to try, if doing Y&Y

Jiko (AKL) blows Boma away!

FYI bluezoo is not DDP, and Jiko is 2 credits.

If you are looking for something a little different, I would suggest Boma and Marrakesh. I've never tried it, but I hear that Akershus still has some authentic food mixed in.

Tusker House is wonderful and has several unusual offerings. My favorite was the absolutely fabulous samosas served with fresh mango chutney.
