List of Never Built Disney Attractions

I suppose you can add the big Disney Hole at 8th and Market in Philly that is now a parking lot. It was supposed to be a Disney Quest! (http://www.disneyhole.org/thehole.html)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who reads stuff like this. I love reading about things that were supposed to be, once were but now aren't, and were abandoned!

I would like to point out that a great number of those scrapped were Roller coasters.

Which i believe is pretty ironic based on the fact that many people criticize Disney World for not having enough thrill rides/roller coasters.

Also, Darn,

Matterhorn is probably my favorite ride and Disneyland. I blame eastman kodak for not letting that mount Fuji coaster.

I am not proud to be from Rochester anymore.

The saddest thing about these rides is that alot of the ideas made it into the parks-but in a very scaled down form.:sad2:

The problem with this list like many things on Wikipedia is that the facts that support the information are very weak to say the least. Yes, some of these were actually planned in detail but others were only ideas or even in some cases just rumors. Many of them reference Jim Hill's website whose information is questionable at best in many cases. :thumbsup2

Very cool list, real or not. Kinda makes you won't to see the "current" working list of ideas.

I think they should build the Mt Fuji roller coaster at the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT. I read about that before somewhere else and thought is sounded like a a cool idea.

Oh well at least I have Maelstrom :goodvibes

I think they should build the Mt. Fuji Roller coaster: "A roller coaster modeled after the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland, planned for the Japan Pavilion at Epcot. It was rejected after protests by Eastman Kodak, sponsor of Journey Into Imagination, over a ride sharing the name of their biggest competitor, Fujifilm"(as in wikipedia)
There is not conflict of Interest, now that Kodak isn't sponsoring Imagination Anymore. The Former image Works needs something new too.

I agree, but is there space in the japan pavilion to put it there?

Thanks for sharing. I love reading about any Disney concepts or myths.
