Wednesday 4th January
By the time I got up on 'going home day' it was clear that I had raging tonsilitis (isn't it typical hadn't had it for years!) and felt really ill. We had a bit of a lie in and headed for Downtown Disney to check in before we did a couple of hours in Epcot. When we arrived at Downtown we were flagged down in the car park and told that check in was down for the day so we would have do it at the airport instead. We crammed all the bags from the back of the car into the boot and headed off to Epcot.
We went straight to fastpass Soarin for the afternoon then went off to Mission Space where I sat in the sunshine while the rest of the family did the ride. It was quite funny - they must have speeded it up that day as loads of people were coming off and having to lie on the wall near the exit as they felt so sick. I must admit it's never been my favourite but it's never made me feel sick.
We all did Test Track then went to World Showcase where we caught the boat across from land to land as I was feeling so rough. We finished in my favourite Mexico and headed back to Soarin for our fastpass. We were a bit cheeky with the cast members seating us for Soarin and pleaded for front row. They generously agreed and so we trully ended our trip on a high note.
The airport was chaotic as no Downtown check in meant massive queues (in excess of an hour and a half) at least we didn't have any waiting around it was literally from queue to queue to plane.
At the boarding gate I spotted Dale Winton at the head of the queue to board our plane. He is even more tanned in real life than on TV. DH said he looked like he had been char grilled
He was chatting to other passengers and seemed very nice.
The flight back was unremarkable. I spent it under several blankets asleep. At Gatwick we called the AA (if you remember our car broke down on the way and was towed to a garage) who arranged a hire car for us to get home in and within minutes we were on our way home (very impressed with their service) I was at the doctors by mid afternoon for antibiotics and DH was collecting his repaired car from our local garage.
So there ends my trip report. I hope I haven't bored you all to death. Only another 9 months until the next one
