We got back from the World and had a wondeful time. We were told at the Bell View that most of the WDW watering holes would stop carrying unique beer and liquor. This wouldn't affect the R&C or some of the themed areas, but many places, like the Bell View, would beging carrying the same libations. Supposedly, in an attempt to cut purchase cost, WDW is moving toward bulk liquor purchases and stocking most bars with the same drinks.

Don't know if it's true or not, but the Bell View was no longer carrying the scotch we wanted to drink.

Hmmm, That's not a good thing. I understand cutting costs and such however it's really downgrading is it not? I think Disney is travelling in the wrong direction. But then again if they standardize most of the restaurants and such- I won't have to spend as long on my vacation there. In the end they will lose more than they will save- at least that's how it sits with me.

This has already started (I believe that scotch has been gone for almost a year now..as hubby drinks it there also) and I am sorry to hear they are taking it further. I agree with you figments friend's...they will be losing money, as we will drink elsewhere. At least the new Raglan Road (not disney owned) keeps some good things behind the bar.

We were also told while in the Crew's Cup that they pretty standardized the menus in many of the lounges. The Cup only has essentially snack items now (no soups, salads and sandwiches).

Standardization probably doesn't impact the beer selection at WDW much since it was so pathetic to begin with.
