Liquor Store Run

Trying to figure out how to get from OKW to a Liquor store in May to pack some treats for our DCL visit. Any suggestions that are easy and low cost. I am thinking a cab is the best choice??

Yes the cab is the best choice, the fare would be more than made up on the difference in price of the liquor on-site vs. off-site - plus there are a lot more choices.

Prices at liquor stores can vary widely.

Best we've found is the ABC Store on Apopka Vineland (same shopping center as Winn Dixie).

Go out Hotel Plaza Blvd & make a left. It's about 2 (3?) traffic lights down on the right.

I agree, that's ABC is the best and that one is very handy to OKW/SSR

Here's a map to the two closest liquor stores I am aware of, The ABC Liquor Store on S. Apopka Vineland Rd, RT535 and the Publix Liquor store on S. International Drive.

The ABC store is probably a little shorter cab ride from OKW, approx $12/each way plus any waiting time and tip.

Not sure how you are getting to OKW at the beginning of your stay, but if you are using a limo service I beleive that *********** limo will allow a 30 minute stop at a grocery store (which would have liquor) on the way to the resort.

Another suggestion would be to contact Weego shop and see what they charge for delivery. They will go anywhere you want them to and they give you the receipt from the store. I am not sure if this will save you money over cab fare but will save you time.

We were just at WDW and accidentally found a liquor store related to Walgreens store(run by Walgreens) if you go to the same light at 535 and turn right instead of left and go down a few lights it is on the right connected to the Walgreens store on the far side a separate entrance from the Walgreens store...I don't know how the prices are since this is our first time buying liquor. they did have sales too. you might check Walgreens online and see it for info...

The ABC and the Publix liquor store are my favorites. I was able to get Bacardi for less than $20 at Christmas at the Publix -- that's my go-to store.

I go to the Publix's one also, very convenient to combine with picking up some groceries.

It's just across the street so it wouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes depending on where your room was located.

Yes there is we go there for beer and soda when we stay at BWV, I would say it is like 5-10 min. It is right opposite the exit gate by parking lot . It is right on the corner

Here's one more suggestion...not sure how long you are staying, what kind of 'treats' you are shopping for, or how you getting there (flying, I assume?). If by chance (longshot) you are flying SWA, you are not charged for luggage. Other airlines do charge per bag, but I think about $20, right? We have been known to pack a few of our favorite treats within our shorts and t-shirts, and have had no problems to date. Alot of liquor comes in plastic bottles nowadays. We are flying SWA for our next trip so I am actually considering packing some groceries including liquor in one suitcase (of course nothing perishable). Would be cheaper than buying down there, although it's an extra suitcase. Anyways, it might be an option for you?
