Hello

I need to take on holiday 300ml of liquid medication for my ds who has Epilepsy. The solution comes in a 300ml bottle. I have a Doctor's letter stating dosage, etc.

Just wondered if anyone had flown recently taking over the 100ml max.
Do you think I will have to transfer the solution to 100ml bottles? :headache:

Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi Julie,
I would expect that you would have to transfer the solution into 3 x 100ml bottles. The only other way to find out would be to speak to the airline and if if they allow you to take a 300ml -get them to put it in writing for when you go to the airport.

Sadly its not the airlines decision, its the airport security which enforce the rule as set out by the government.Airlines have been trying for ages for them to relax the caryon bag rule,Manchester relaxes theres on 7 jan

We had exactly the same worries with our DS's epilepsy meds (I suspect the same ones as you have) and had no problem taking a sealed 300ml bottle in hand luggage as we had a doctor's letter stating this was necessary. We were told we may have to taste the liquid at security but this didn't happen and we have travelled several times with the same medication without problems.

You are right what you say, I've just checked on VH website and it states we can take 300ml with the authorised docs. I have a doctor's letter and prescription.

Just one thing though, did you still put it into a transparent bag?

Thanks for all your replies :)

I put all out ds meds in a clear bag. I got the bags out of M & S . they were in the toiletries section and they came in 3 sizes, they had carry handles and were great for putting all the meds into.
