Lipsalve on planes?

I'm going to miss lip balm a bit, but what I am really going to miss is my saline nasal gel. I have terrible sinus problems and have to take sudafed regularly throught the flight to avoid the earsplitting pain at landing. Unfortunately it dries my nose out horribly which in turn gives me a headache... But what can you do?

Can you take sudafed in tablet form? and perhaps deoderant in wet wipe form? ar these allowed?

Definately NOT going to try and smuggle anything on board - just not worth the risk of possibly not getting to my favourite place in the world, drinking lots of water should try and keep your skin hydrated a bit.

Try getting the same or equivalent from your GP on prescription - prescription meds are allowed.

We came back into the UK from Turkey last thurs night/fri morning when the restrictions had just been put in place and even the cabin crew had they're personal make-up, lip balms etc confiscated. (First Choice Airlines)
The Captain had to leave his deodorant spray behind !!!
So it seems that even the crews can't help in some circumstances.
Separately, a work colleague is going to Tenerife today and has to take the repeat prescription with him to prove that his childs insulin is actually what he says it is.
Best advice seems to be go to the Airlines website for their specific up-to-date advice for each destination.
Or the airport website.

We flew back from Sanford last night and you couldn't take lipsalves in your hand luggage (although MyTravel had told me you could)

I came back this morning (Sanford-Cardiff) and Thomson gave Premium Economy a small pack with toothpaste and lip balm in (very nice lip balm in fact!)
When I flew with Virgin, we also got lip balm (Economy, Premium and First Class) so they may give you this pack on the plane.
I know that coming back here, you are now allowed a certain amount of non-prescription medicine (possibly 6oz.?) and solid lipstick, so solid lip balm should be allowed when returning. However, when I flew out from Cardiff to Sanford, the whole fiasco hadn't happened yet, so I'm not really sure just how strict British airlines are.

sorry - don't know if any body has told you (didn't have time to read it all again) and not sure which airline you are on but pleased for me that there is a lip balm in the virgin amenity kie

If you aren't allowed it from the UK then the worst thing you can do in terms of preventing lips from being dryer than necessary is to lick them or wet them with water.. It'll actually dry them out quicker cos of the water evaporating and may cause them to crack. Obviously drink water but I personally wouldn't be putting it directly on my lips.

Surely the airline pampering packs will still be available as they can verify the origins of the contents so for those of us girls who need a few pick me ups we will be able to use them still!!

I'm fairly sure you could take sudafed tablets as long as they are in a sealled packet (I assume that anyway as its not on the restriction). Wet wipes I assume not as they are classed as still being kind of liquid. Best to check with airline.
