Lionel Ritchie????

OK--SO here I am, watching Jay Leno. And they have been teasing 'Lionel Ritchie as musical guest' I think, Ok, I've been under a rock, maybe he has a new record.

He is singing All Night Long . Now, I am a card carrying child of the 80's, but I did not like this song then, and I am baffled as to why he is singing it tonight.

Just my musings at 12:30 waiting for some work stuff to finish up.

Deb.. old lady checking in! LOL.. Lionel Ritchie had some great stuff in the late 70's and'80's.. I loved when he was with the Commodore's.
"Still" is one of my all time favorite songs. "Truly" was another.

She's a "Brick House" mighty mighty just lettin' it all hang out!

Hee hee Mamajoan. You're right. Some of the Commodores old stuff was GREAT. Very funky, cool R&B stuff. But this still has me baffled.

Didn't like that song either.. as for him singing it.. maybe he was promoting a greatest hits CD or something like that..

Has some of his Commodores work on it as well..which I agree, is some of his better stuff

In defense of Lionel:

I met him last year and he was the NICEST celebrity I've EVER met!! Wonderful KIND person!

His work in the 70s is what I grew up with, one of my favorite memories was seeing him with the Commodores perform "Easy" starting it off by say "I feel like Sunday Morning..." I remember screaming my head off.

His solo career was very successful in the 80s, so successful I got SICK of hearing how many awards one man could get for one record..."Truly"... which I got TRULY sick of!

I think he has superstar status regardless of whether or not he has a song out, at least in my world he does!
