Lion King Show at A.K.

Hi everybody! How is the Lion King Show at Animal Kingdom? I wanted to see it on Broadway when I was there and havent seen it yet? How does it compare?

I'm not sure how it compares with Broadway, but The Festival of the Lion King show is fantastic! Not to be missed!!

Both are fantastic in their own respect, but they are completely different.
The broadway version tells the LK story fairly close to the movie version, while
the AK version is sort of a hodge podge of songs and acts using some of the
Lion King characters, dancers, and tumblers.

Yup, do NOT confuse Festival of the Lion King at AK for a short version of Lion King on Broadway. They are nothing alike in any respect other than they have many of the same songs and the name "Lion King" in the title. Festival is really that - a festival, which I believe is a celebration for Simba or something; I don't even think they say that part any more from what I remember from my last trip, but I've got a video from 1998 and they did say it was a party for him.

The Lion King in AK is a must do. It is the best show Disney has.

But on that same note, I still say that they should put theaters in DTD and show 2-3 of Disney on Broadway productions. I mean, New York shouldn't be the only place we could see Tarzan, Aida, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast.

Having seen the Lion King twice on Broadway and several times at Animal Kingdom, I can say that there is no comparison between the two. The costumes of the Broadway show are just breathtaking and amazing. The music is powerful and the show is just beautiful.

The Lion King show at Animal Kingdom is nice. Mostly it is songs from the movie with CM's dressed like animals. It's a nice show, so please don't get me wrong. It is just no where near the caliber of the Broadway show.

I've seen both. I don't think the AK show is that similiar to BWay but it's still a really nice show. Definately worth checking out.

And I would have to disagree. LOL I've seen both several times and please don't get me wrong because I absolutely love both shows! True, you really can't compare the two shows because on Broadway it tells the whole Lion King story. However, I do have to say that the costuming for Festival of Lion King AK is better in my opinion. Also, the amount of space for a stage and what the performers are able to do in that space is just amazing in the Festival of the Lion King in AK. Also, be sure to have kidlets sit down in the first rows because kidlets are picked out to perform!

This is my favorite show in Disney World! We went to see it on our departure day last thursday. I was kicking myself for having us in a park on the last day. We were so worn out and it was very hot. Once we got in Lion King, We forgot all about it. This show is a lot of fun and is very well done. I get teary eyed every time. Love it!

I've never seen the Broadway show, but IMO, the Festival of the Lion King is the best show at WDW. It's one of the few reasons we go to AK at all.
