Funny thing happened to us at the Lion King Broadway show on Thursday. We are waiting for the mezzanine doors to open and what comes up the stairs and crowds to the front - a Brazilian tour group!!
I guess Disney and tour groups from Brazil just go together.
I have never been one to jump on the bandwagon complaining about the tour groups I have just never witnessed what others have. But, now thats all changed. They crowded to the door, they took ALL the boosters meant for children (the ushers did make them put them back)
, they did the wave before the performance
. And the clincher was that many of them talked loudly during the first fifteen minutes of the second act
. One lady went out to get an usher but because they were seated toward the middle of the row the ushers could not easily get to them (should have tried harder in my opinion - it was very distracting).
On another note, my husband and I were a little disappointed in the show. We are HUGE Disney fans and I dont complain very easily about anything Disney, but we just expected more. My 7 year old fell asleep during the first act. We woke her up for the second act. All three DDs said they liked it but they like the FOTLK at AK better.
We also saw Phantom of the Opera (DD16s favorite) and Hairspray (DD12s and DD7s favorite).
