I'm sorry if I'm not posting in the right place: I just joined last week. This looked like the best shot for what I need to know, though.

Have any of you seen Lion King 1 1/2? My two girls want to see it and since it was direct-to-video we haven't heard anyone say if it was a good show or not. Some of the sequels I liked (Little Mermaid II), and some I haven't (Tarzan and Jane, Jungle Book II). What are your opinions (worth purchasing or just renting)? Thanks!

I haven't watched it yet, but my 3dds have watched it at least 20 times since I brought it home. The games on it are really great!

it is really cute...there is this song in it that the mear cats sing that i cant get out of my head while digging their tunnels that i cant get out of my head.....my children love it....we have watched it about 10 times......

Our family hasn't liked some of the sequels either, so I was reluctant to purchase LK 1 1/2, but we found it for a good price. We enjoy it (though like cyndibelle, that song just won't go away).

This movie has elements for both kids and grown-ups. We found it to be a great sequel, as we thought that Timon and Pumbaa were the best characters in the original Lion King movie, and the subtle humor was hilarious.

I loved Lion King so much, I told my DH just to rent this one for the kids. But, when he couldn't find it to rent and got it for a great price at Sam's, he brought it home against my wishes. Having said that, it turned out to be really cute and I love the games too. I'm glad I'm not the only one walking around with "Dig a tunnel...quick before the hyena comes" running through my head all the time. ;)

It's a GREAT movie! We were apprehensive about it, but it turned out to be really good. I'd recommend buying it!

My kids love the movie also! In fact, my almost 3 y/o son found a hidden Mickey in one part. He kept saying, "There's Mickey." I finally went back to that scene and sure enough, there was a hidden Mickey. The next day, my 4 y/o daughter found another one. I'm so glad my kids are learning the important things in life, like finding hidden Mickeys!

I haven't watched much of it, but it seemed pretty well done for a direct-to-video sequel and it has all the original voices. I did hear my DD laughing a LOT when watching it, she's 6.

My kids love it too and they are 5 and 8 years. They've watched it a dozen times at least already!

Thanks to everyone for your posts! We just finished watching our rented copy for family movie night and we all LOVED it! It's definitely one we will have to own!!! (Now I know what you mean about "Dig a tunnel"......);) :D

I pre-ordered this in a weak moment and boy was I glad I did! We watched it AGAIN last night -- convinced DH to watch it with us thsi time (he doesn't totally share my / our kids' affection for animated flicks... if ESPN ever does an animated movie, though, I'm sure he'd be glued.... ) Even DH admitted it was well done! I didn't really care for Lion King II SImba's Pride; I thought this, however, was awesome and so clever! I just love Nathan Lane as Timon -- he's so awesome. And poor ol Pumba... doesn't your heart just break for the lovable stink-bomb?

I know what you mean about kids finding the hidden Mickeys... we didn't realize they even had them in the movie (if you go to the games on the DVD, they tell you this, as we finally discovered!) When we were watching the first time, my 7 yr old spotted one, then not to be "outdone" by his younger sib my 9 yr old insisted he saw them in a really strange place, upside down, even (he made me freeze frame to prove it) Sure enough, there they were, the sneaky buggers. Now they want to watch it again JUST FOR THE MICKEYS.

Wonder if this will be a trend for all future Disney movies?

My boys loved it so much (a Valentine present) that this weekend when we were in our local Disney Store we ended up buying the audio CD of the music. It was playing in the store at the time. 8 of the songs for about $6. They play it in the car and at home...now I have the songs running in my head.

My oldest son keeps singing "show the menu" from the DVD!

My wife and I thought it was okay, but the kids loved it. They must have watched it 5 or 6 times since Valentines Day. And yes, that Dig a Tunnel song does get stuck in your head, as does that song by Raven.
